Our digital learning objects (DLOs) are built using a tested pedagogical model combining expert knowledge, learning-by-doing, and self-reflection.
Each DLO works sequentially, starting with knowledge acquisition and self-directed formative assessment. It then moves on to a practical application consisting of an analysis of a data snippet. An expert’s analysis of the same data provides students with additional insight into the application of the method of analysis. This enables students to compare their own work to that of the expert, and reflect on the similarities and differences.
Depending on how the DLOs are implemented, peer learning is also possible at each step of the process.
