Qualitative Methodology

Teaching and learning qualitative research can be difficult. Students often lack confidence in their qualitative analysis skills and struggle with the interpretive process.

This can lead them to conclude that anything goes in this type of research. Terms like “confusing” or “subjective” often pop up in student evaluations of qualitative methodology courses.

To address these issues, we have developed a set of eight digital learning objects (DLOs) to support the different educational needs of bachelor, pre-master, and master students. Our DLOs are developed according to a tested pedagogical model and can be easily adapted to different courses and methodological needs.

To facilitate reuse, modules come together with lesson plans that can be easily tailored to the needs of your lecture or seminar.

This project has been made possible by a 2021 Comenius Senior Fellowship awarded to Dr. Delia Dumitrica for the project “Adaptive digital environments for qualitative research learning” and implemented together with Dr. Naomi Oosterman. The project has also been supported by an Innovation Grant from EUR’s Community for Learning and Innovation.
