EWCSD utilizes a variety of assessments to monitor student growth and achievement. Our teachers engage in daily informal formative assessments to make timely decision about whether a student understands the material and concepts being presented. We also utilize several summative assessments to determine if a student has mastered grade level skills and standards.
If a student misses an assignment due to an excused absence, he or she should access the class website to find out what was missed and make-up the assignment promptly. Students are granted the number of days they are absent to make-up the assignment (ex. If a student is absent for two days, he or she has two additional class days to make-up the assignment from the time he or she returns to school). Students must make arrangements with Mrs. Peterson within one week of returning to school in order to make-up missed quizzes or tests.
