The ISTE Standards is a framework for helping teachers integrate technology into their classrooms and teach their students to become innovators. These standards have a strong focus on life after the classroom and strive to help students prepare for work and life after they graduate. There are standards for four major roles related to schooling, including students, teachers, administrators, and coaches.
Below are some 'sketchnotes' I created about the Student and Teacher standards while taking a course on Educational Technology. I find the ISTE standards are helpful in guiding my planning and practice when deciding if I should include technology into a lesson - and if so, how. Then ISTE standards help teachers be purposeful in their use of technology by keeping the students' learning at the forefront.
