We will share a preliminary list of exhibits customized for each confirmed judge during the week of March 30, based on the judge’s preferred categories. The table titled "Preliminary Breakdown of Exhibits at the 2026 Fair" shows how high school exhibits vary by category.
Recent virtual fair updates:
The Tri-County Science & Technology Fair will assign at least three judges per exhibit; if more judges sign up, exhibits may receive more than three judges.
Judges can sign up for 3–8 high school exhibits on a first-come, first-served basis, across one or multiple categories.
Available slots depend on the number of confirmed judges; some categories offer 7-20 slots per exhibit.
Each exhibit has an exhibit number -- remember which ones you would like to judge!
You can select exhibits from April 6 at 8:00 AM to April 10 at 6:00 PM EDT. The sooner you access the Exhibit Selection Form, the better your chances of judging your preferred exhibits. However, there's no guarantee you'll get your top choices, as the number of exhibits varies by level and category. Please have some alternate choices ready. Also, avoid any exhibits that might present a conflict of interest for you.
Below is a list of categories of High School Exhibits
Biology
Chemistry
Clinical/Social Psychology
Earth/Space Science
Engineering/Technology
Environmental Science
Health/Nutrition
Math/Computers
Medicine and Medical Science & Technology
Physics
Physiological/Experimental Psychology
When selecting exhibits online, please review the breakdown of the Preliminary List of Exhibits carefully. We cannot control how many exhibits register in each category, so your preferred category may not have enough exhibits for all judges. As a result, you might receive few or none of your selected exhibits. For instance, categories like Physics at the high school level usually have fewer exhibits than Health/Medicine or Psychology. Please have alternate choices ready from other levels or categories.
If you decide not to judge due to insufficient exhibits in your chosen category, contact the Judges' Committee as soon as possible at Judges@DiscoveryCtr.org or 845-621-1260 x-402.
A recurring issue for us is that we have many more Psychology, Environment, and Medicine exhibits than judges who sign up for them. If possible, please try to select some Psychology, Environment, and/or Medicine exhibits at the HS level if you feel you have the expertise and are comfortable doing so.
The Exhibit Selection Form will indicate the number of slots remaining for any exhibit that has not yet been selected by three judges. Try to add two or three among the remaining Psychology, Environment, and/or Medicine exhibits along with your primary selections based on your expertise. Your help would be greatly appreciated!
Whether you are a novice that never judged any other fair, or an experienced judge who is a newcomer to our fair, or a returning judge well-acquainted with our fair, we urge you to look over all the information on this website! You should review the material we have compiled to help you become more effective in judging exhibits in an online format.
If you have completed reading the Rubric and reviewing the Preliminary List of Exhibits , you now have the option of selecting exhibits, which will be assigned to you to evaluate between
