JROTC Instructors

Lieutenant Colonel David Schiffert (USAF Retired)

Lt Col Schiffert served on active duty and reserves in the United States Air Force for over 28 years across the US and overseas. During his career, he provided meteorological and oceanographic support across all operational levels. Additionally, he performed duties as a ROTC Instructor at University of Central Florida.

Lt Col Schiffert earned a Bachelor of Science in Aeronautical Engineering from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Bachelor of Science in Meteorology from the University of Oklahoma. He also earned a Master of Education from Troy University. He previously worked for Brevard Public Schools and began working for Orange County Public Schools at Timber Creek High School in 2021.

Lt Col Schiffert teaches second, third and fourth year cadets.

Master Sergeant Gregory Groll (USAF Retired)

MSgt Groll served on active duty in the United States Air Force for over 24 years. On active duty he served as a Jet Engine Mechanic, Weapons Systems Controller, Propulsion Systems Maintenance Supervisor, in the US & United Kingdom. He completed his active duty career as a Aircraft Maintenance and Sortie Generation Production Supervisor of the B-52 Bomber Aircraft.

He earned an Associates in Applied Science in Aircraft Maintenance Technology from the Community College of the Air Force, and Bachelors of Arts in History from Louisiana Tech University. He began working for Orange County Public Schools at Timber Creek High School in 2009.

MSgt Groll teaches second, third and fourth year cadets.
