These 6 Things: How to Focus your Teaching on What Matters Most
-The EduProtocol Field Guide I've heard Jon Corippo talk many times and he's fantastic. "sixteen classroom-tested protocols to break up clichéd lesson plans, build culture, and deliver content to K–12 students in a supportive, creative environment." I REALLY loved the 8 P*arts and Sentence P*arts as daily routines to help w/grammar! There are many more, and can be adapted to any content area.
-Anything by Jeff Anderson I used Everyday Editing and Mechanically Inclined, and he has a new one focused on grades 1-5, Patterns of Power. Fantastic, and easily tied to writing.
Even if you are teaching in Spanish, I'd apply his concepts.
The Creativity Project Some great story starters with a twist: "Colby Sharp invited more than forty authors and illustrators to provide story starters for each other; photos, drawings, poems, prose, or anything they could dream up."
