Restating Thesis Statement

In order to conclude your essay, you need to explicitly state what you have proven, which should be the same thing as your set out to prove in your introduction: your thesis statement. As such, a sentence that is similar thesis statement will appear in your conclusion.

In order to ensure that we're doing this, we can deliberately reword our thesis statement in our conclusion. For example, if your thesis statement in your introduction was "Within the movie, Get Out, Peele uses characterisation and setting in order to demonstrate the ways in which microaggressions and marginalisation disempower Black Americans", your thesis statement in your conclusion could be " Peele’s use of characterisation and setting in the movie Get Out captures the ways in which Black people are disempowered in society through microaggressions and marginalisation." As you can see, both of these sentences express the same ideas but use different language.

Summarising Key Points

As well as explicitly pointing out the thing that you've proven in your essay (your restated thesis statement), you need to recap the supporting arguments that have used to prove your thesis. That is to say, that you need to summarise the main point of each body paragraph.

In order to do this, you can look back at the claims of each paragraph.

Implications

Finally, you should end your conclusion with one final takeaway that brings attention to the importance of your interpretation. Your reader should understand this from what they have read in your essay, and it shouldn't require any extra explanation.

You can do this by asking yourself, "So what?" or "Why is this important?" Also, the following sentence stems might help you express this:
