I have missed putting on live events for children and families and I’m pleased to let you know that the TSO has scheduled education concerts in the TSO Studio next year.
We hope to introduce school children to the full orchestra in the Federation Concert Hall in 2023. It was near impossible to predict what would be possible to put on at the time TSO was locking in its schedule for 2021, but I hope you have found our online “Join In” products useful during this time.

The TSO will release two more “Join In” resources in 2022. One resource will feature a new work for orchestra and audience performing a body percussion choreography, by Holly Harrison.
The second resource to be released in 2022 is titled “Violin Stories”. At the centre of this resource are recordings of three narrated musical stories inspired by historically significant violins. Creative concept and stories by me, arrangements of existing works and original music by composer Jessica Wells. These works will be accompanied by a large set of play-along video resources/pdf parts recorded by TSO musicians. Nara Dennis has created arrangements of compositions by Corelli, Lully, Monteclair, Mozart, Grieg and Tchaikovsky that feature in the violin Stories recordings. Nara has written additional “play-along” parts for beginner to intermediate string players. Complete sets (scores and all parts) of the arrangements will be available for purchase through TSO House in 2022.
Bookings for Mini TSO May events will open in February. Bookings for Mini TSO September events will open a little later. Tickets will be $8, with a free chaperone ticket per 20 student tickets booked.

Also, I am arranging for several UKE BOX song arrangements to be written for Mini TSO, so students can sing these with the TSO musicians. https://www.tso.com.au/uke-box/
I would like to offer a huge congratulations to Eleanor Tucker for her wonderful UKE BOX materials and singing, and to Gina Rose, Finlay Underwood and Mark Schmalfuss for their wonderful UKE BOX performances as well!
Please put the Mini TSO dates in your school calendars and visit the TSO website in February to book tickets.
