Mark Bain presented at the ASME XXIII National Conference in 2021.
"Bridging the Gap” is a music performance forum specifically offered to secondary and tertiary level musicians who are looking to take their playing to the next level. Lead by Mark Bain (Founder & Director of Performance Under Pressure, and Tutti Trumpet of the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra), participants will have the opportunity to perform a short piece of their choice, and receive immediate feedback and performance coaching. These sessions are designed to provide participants with practical, actionable steps to help dramatically improve practice and performance.
All information provided in these sessions will be derived from scientifically researched sources in the fields of peak performance psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and the psychology of Music Performance Anxiety (MPA).
Who is this for?
Participating performers - For any secondary or tertiary musicians wanting to improve their performance. Participants will be required to perform a piece of music no longer than 5 minutes in duration. All styles, configurations, and instruments* are welcome!
Audience - Any other interested musicians looking to sit in and learn further techniques and strategies to achieve peak performance.
Teachers - All teachers are welcome to sit in as an audience member.

Cost
Participating performer - $30 each individual/group (maximum of 7 performers/groups per session)
Active participants receive 2 complimentary tickets to a Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra concert in 2022*

Teacher of performing student - Free!
