1. 2026 elections begin today as there are 2 seats that we have the opportunity to vote in conservative candidates.

2. Non-Voting Members (AB460 may change this to allow for them to vote as appointed members)
-created by the 2023 legislature to give local governments more representation (not meant to be voting members)
-2025 legislature added them to being voting members through AB460 that the governor has jointly agreed to.
-this will not going into effect until 2027-so could be reversed
-not elected by the voters, but are appointed by the board of county commissioners
-these members hold a 4 year term

The four appointed, non-voting members of the Clark County School District (CCSD) Board of Trustees will gain voting rights in 2027.
Here's what you need to know about the change:
The legislative change: State lawmakers passed Senate Bill 460 in 2025, which amended the 2023 law (Assembly Bill 175) that originally created the non-voting seats.
Expansion of power: The new law changes the "nonvoting" status to "voting" for the appointed trustees, effective in 2027.
Composition of the board: Since January 2024, the board has consisted of 11 members: the original seven elected members and four appointed members from Clark County, Las Vegas, North Las Vegas, and Henderson.
