Tanvir Ahmed is a dedicated research professional with a strong background in pharmaceutical sciences, biopharmaceutics, and drug delivery. He holds a Master of Pharmacy (M.Pharm) in Pharmaceutical Technology & Biopharmaceutics from North South University, Dhaka, Bangladesh, and a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm Hons.) with High Distinction from BRAC University. His research expertise lies at the intersection of computational drug discovery, biomaterials, immunotherapy, and nanomedicine.
During his master's research under the supervision of Dr. G. M. Sayedur Rahman, Tanvir conducted an in-silico study to identify potential KRAS G12C inhibitors for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). His work involved advanced computational techniques, including virtual screening, ADME studies, molecular docking, molecular dynamics simulations, and toxicity prediction. His undergraduate research focused on the development of microneedle-mediated ocular drug delivery systems, demonstrating his versatility in both computational and experimental pharmaceutical sciences.
Tanvir has actively contributed to several high-impact research areas, including cancer therapeutics, in-vitro modeling using biomaterials, stem cell-based regenerative medicine, translational immunotherapeutics, and controlled drug delivery systems. He has collaborated on international research projects involving transdermal and ocular drug delivery, COVID-19 vaccine platforms, artificial intelligence in drug discovery, and tissue engineering.
Previously, he served as a Scientific Associate and Senior Research Assistant at the Drug Delivery & Therapeutics (DDRx) Lab, where he led projects in nanotechnology, biomaterial-based in-vitro models, and artificial intelligence-driven drug discovery. He also gained industry experience as a Quality Assurance Executive at The ACME Laboratories Ltd., overseeing in-process control testing and quality assurance in solid dosage formulations.
Tanvir's research findings have been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, including AAPS PharmSciTech, Medcomm-Oncology, In Vitro Models, Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy, Biomedical Engineering Advances, Biosensors and Bioelectronics: X, and Pharmaceutics. Additionally, he has authored multiple book chapters on nanomedicine, bio-inspired drug delivery, and lab-on-a-chip technologies.
Beyond his research contributions, Tanvir actively engages with the scientific community as a peer reviewer for journals such as Future Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Cancer Pathogenesis and Therapy, ACS Omega, and Medcomm. His work reflects a commitment to advancing pharmaceutical innovation through interdisciplinary approaches in computational and experimental sciences.
