About Tanjil Ahmed

Tanjil Ahmed is an accomplished academic and professional currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Public Administration and Governance Studies at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University (JKKNIU). Born in 1993 in Kuliarchar Upazila, Kishoregonj District, Bangladesh, his early life and education laid a solid foundation for his remarkable career.

His academic journey began with exceptional achievements at Kuliarchar Government High School, where he earned a perfect GPA of 5.00 in his Secondary School Certificate (SSC) in 2010. He continued his stellar performance at Kuliarchar Government College, achieving another GPA of 5.00 in his Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSC) in 2012, both in the discipline of business studies. His pursuit of higher education at Jatiya Kabi Kazi Nazrul Islam University saw him excel further, obtaining a graduation degree in 2016 with a CGPA of 3.89 and a post-graduation degree in 2017 with a CGPA of 3.95, securing the first-class first position in both exams.

Tanjil has received several prestigious awards throughout his academic career. He received the Prime Minister Gold Medal Award from Honorable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in 2018, the UGC Merit Scholarship in the same year, the Kazi Aniruddha Merit Scholarship from Nazrul Institute of JKKNIU, and an Academic Merit Scholarship for four consecutive academic years. His outstanding research proposal earned him the Championship Award from the JKKNIU Research Society (JKKNIURS) in 2019. 

In addition to his teaching responsibilities, he is a house tutor at Agnibina Hall and the Assistant Director of the Master of Development Studies (MDS) program, run by the Department of Economics and Public Administration & Governance Studies at JKKNIU. Beyond his academic endeavors, he is a professional researcher. His preferred research interests lie in diverse areas, including governance, good governance, local and urban government, e-governance, gender and development, people's participation, education, the COVID-19 pandemic, and contemporary issues. His passion for writing and traveling complements his professional life, with ten published research articles, twelve editorial write-ups at the Daily Sun, the Daily Observer newspaper, and more under processing.
