Kusudama are a type of unit/modular origami, combining multiple basic units into large, geometric ball arrangements. Most of these kusudama are constructed of paper only, although a few large and/or complex models use tape or glue for extra stability.
The most common model shapes are the dodecahedron (12 pentagonal faces, 30 units) or the icosahedron (20 triangular faces, 30 units), but other variants, such as cubes and buckyballs, are also explored.
