Books for Kids Groups

A.13 Other Educational Activities

TALE invited members and others around Texas to share the names and locations of groups that work as non-profits to provide books to children. This is the beginning of future efforts to help make people aware of these groups as well as potentially support them as an ILA chapter.

A.8 Arrange a "Meet Your Representative" meeting

Members of TALE utilized the Advocacy Twitter (@AdvocacyTale) to share contact information for state school board members with members and other followers. Members of the school board were also invited to a virtual meeting.

The Advocacy Committee presented two Leadership in Literacy Awards in May 2021.

A.12 Utilize Media Resources

TALE shared information about legislative actions and bills via social media platforms Facebook and Twitter. We also used Twitter to share information about upcoming local elections that could affect our membership and their school districts.
