Edie

Basics

Edith 'Edie' Adalynn Emerson is the youngest daughter (at 16 years old) of a noble family in Atcia. Since she was a toddler, many of her achievements have been overshadowed by those of her older sister, Diés. When Diés leaves for Tabance to join the famous hero team known as the Fierce Weatherfriends, Edie thinks she might finally be recognized, but fate has other plans- Diés mysteriously vanishes about a year after the induction ceremony.

Tired of her family's focus on their missing eldest daughter, Edie leaves to work as a freelancer in Tabance. In her first few weeks in Tabance she buys an old boombox from a thrift store and awakens it, giving life to the item spirit Boxx. She begins accepting money from powerful organizations to covertly investigate for them as a Siderealtor.

One of these organizations, the Environmental Protection Siderealtor Agency, has had its eyes on a solitary girl called Tibby who's infamous for the secret project she's supposedly working on. Edie successfully learns the nature of the project while investigating for them. However, she discovers that Diés is still alive somewhere beyond Tabance, speaking to Tibby through the dimensional threshold and giving her instructions on how to build a portal to the forsaken dimension Golana. Edie begins a homestay with Tibby; her main goal, which she publicizes, is to reach Golana and find her sister. Her secondary goal, however, is to defeat her sister, who, unbeknownst to everyone except Edie, is demonstrating symptoms of a disease called UMD that turned the residents of Golana into mutated monsters long ago.
