Arcy

Arcy Carr, otherwise known as the Backstreet Piranha, is a 14-year-old Siderealtor and assassin for hire. The lonely daughter of two working parents, Arcy is initially given a goldfish named Kingy (along with his bowl) as a gift for her 7th birthday, and she quickly begins developing a relationship with him (though a lot of said relationship is imagined by her). When a factory fire kills her parents, Arcy is left with only her wagon, some clothes, and Kingy to wander the streets, where she's eventually taken in by a kind-hearted accountant for an unnamed underground hitman guild. When Kingy dies, Arcy stops speaking for a long while, and deludes herself into believing his spirit is still in the bowl- her attachment to the empty bowl is so great that she manages to awaken it, manifesting her anger and sadness in the form of an item spirit who she believes is Kingy's new form.

The new item spirit (also named Kingy) comes to believe, after a while of being told so by Arcy, that it is the departed goldfish. When it lashes out at two thieves during a guild break-in, Arcy realizes it has offensive powers, and the leader of the hitman guild decides to make her a member of its taskforce, planning to take advantage of her innocent appearance to sneak her into otherwise heavily-guarded situations for the guild's clients.

Unable to truly understand the ramifications of death, Arcy becomes, over time, more and more used to her job. [tba]
