PTO Officers are elected by PTO members to serve two year terms. There are many opportunities to provide leadership beyond serving as an officer, including chairing committees, spearheading a particular event, or participating in planning and execution of events and fundraisers. PTO membership is free and open to all.
2025-2026
President
I am the mom of a second-grade student at Syracuse Latin and a 4 year old currently in Pre-K at RECC. Over the past two years, I have enjoyed getting to know the Latin community and have loved the opportunities for parent involvement within the school. Serving as PTO Secretary this past year allowed me to have deeper involvement in the organization and planning of all of the great things the PTO does! It’s been a joy to connect with families and support our dedicated teachers and staff.
I have worked in the field of education for over 15 years, in both K–12 and higher education. Whether I've been in the classroom teaching or supporting students as they transition to college, my work has shown me just how important it is to support teachers and families and foster a strong school community.
I am excited to be PTO President this coming year. I hope to continue to serve on the PTO board and look forward to bringing my organizational skills, global perspective, and collaborative spirit to help Syracuse Latin continue to grow and thrive.
Vice-President
I am the mom of a 7th grader, Forrest, at Syracuse Latin. I have served as the Vice-President of the PTO for the past year and I have very much enjoyed my role. In the process I learned so much about Syracuse Latin School and look forward to continuing to learn and be involved in the school community.
I have worked in leadership roles in the non-profit field for over 10 years and served on other boards. I also have a background in environmental education which helps me understand the needs of educators.
I reside in the Strathmore neighborhood with my family which includes a flock of chickens.
I am excited to be Vice-President for a second year. I hope to continue with assisting and organizing events, getting to meet more families, and sending out those newsletters!
Treasurer
My wife and I have two girls at Latin, Kate and Emily, who are 6th and 3rd graders. We've lived in the Strathmore neighborhood for 14 years! I am currently the CFO at Auburn Community FCU, and have been in the banking industry for almost 20 years. I was previously Treasurer for my fraternity's Alumni Association for 5 years, during which we began a $1 million fundraising campaign for extensive renovations to our Chapter House.
I'm excited to take on the role of PTO Treasurer to give back to an organization that's provided such wonderful experiences for my children!
Secretary
After 2 years of fun with spreadsheets serving as our PTO treasurer, I'm excited to move into the role of Secretary. I live in the University neighborhood with my husband Sam, my three children (1st, 5th and 7th graders at Latin), and our dog Margot. I worked in school operations and taught enrichment classes at DC Prep in Washington, DC and taught English to middle schoolers in South Korea, so I have a ton of respect for the hard work of everyone in the Syracuse Latin building. I have spent my career in nonprofit management, government relations, fundraising, and Board consulting. I want the work of the PTO to be fully transparent and accessible to all of our wonderful families and strive to make the support given to our educators and students feel seamless and meaningful.
Social Chair
My son is in second grade at Syracuse Latin, and this is my second year as the Social Chair of the Syracuse Latin PTO. I have LOVED my position this past year, during which I chaired the Fall Family Fun night, the Holiday Shoppes, Skate Night, and Family Night Out. I also co-chaired Multicultural Fest and volunteered at popsicles on the playground, award breakfasts, and teacher appreciation. Every single one of those events was a learning experience for me and I very much want to bring what I've learned to the events of 2025/26. I have so many great ideas for our kids and families this year! I believe that we all need community - parents, teachers, caregivers, children - we all need each other's strengths and a place to come together. I hope to create events that do just that.
