Integrating Educational, Psychological, and Biological Methodologies symposium is a significant event for teachers and teacher educators in Australia and beyond.
Where: Charles Darwin UniversityCASUARINA Red.6.1.1Day 1: 19 March (TUE) 2024 15:00 - 18:00 Darwin Timeonline streamingDescription: Over the span of two days, the symposium explores advanced research in student motivation, engagement, and the interplay of perception and learning. The symposium will delve into key theories and traditional approaches in motivation and engagement research, and introduces innovative methods including real-time technological and neuro-psychological analyses. The focus then shifts to the role of multisensory techniques in the context of literacy education, challenging traditional linguistics-based methods and incorporating insights from neuroscience. This includes examining advanced cognitive systems and their impact on learning through studies in Indonesia and China, using tools like ERPs (event related potential), fMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) or, in future, fNIRS (functional near-infrared spectroscopy). The symposium aims to showcase how this novel research can transform our understanding of student motivation and learning, with practical implications for enhancing educational practices.
Aims: The symposium endeavors to disseminate among stakeholders recent advancements and discoveries in research and educational practice. Furthermore, it seeks to propose potential research trajectories that these studies indicate for future initiatives and developmental pursuits. This dual focus not only facilitates the sharing of current knowledge but also fosters the identification and exploration of new avenues in scholarly inquiry.
