Marathi Divas
The school celebrated Marathi Divas on 25th February with great enthusiasm and cultural pride to honour the richness of the Marathi language and literature. The day marks the birth anniversary of renowned poet and writer Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, popularly known as Kusumagraj, whose contribution to Marathi literature is immense.
The special assembly began with a warm welcome and an introduction highlighting the importance of Marathi as a language that preserves culture, traditions, and identity. Students spoke about the significance of the day and shared interesting facts about the Marathi language.
A soulful Marathi poem recitation beautifully expressed love for the mother tongue. This was followed by a vibrant cultural segment showcasing Maharashtra’s traditional attire.
The highlight of the assembly was a graceful folk dance performance that reflected the spirit and energy of Maharashtra. Students also presented a short speech emphasizing the importance of preserving regional languages in today’s globalized world.
The celebration concluded with an inspiring message encouraging everyone to respect and promote Marathi in their daily lives. The Marathi Divas assembly was a meaningful and enriching experience for all, fostering pride and appreciation for our linguistic heritage.

Makar Sankranti Festival Celebration
Makar Sankranti was joyfully celebrated by MYP 1 students with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit. As part of the celebration, students created colourful handmade kites and wrote traditional Marathi Makar Sankranti wishes on them. The activity helped students connect with local traditions while expressing creativity.
MYP Students also distributed til-gul to their peers and teachers, spreading the message of harmony and sweetness by saying, “Til gul ghya, goad goad bola.” The celebration encouraged cultural awareness, sharing, and values of kindness and togetherness among students.

Understanding Bullying and Ways to Stop Bullying
A workshop on “Understanding Bullying and Ways to Stop Bullying” was conducted for MYP 1, 2, and 3 students on 17th December 2025, led by Ms. Swaleha Shaikh. The session helped students understand what bullying is, the different types of bullying, and how it can affect individuals.
Through interactive discussions and real-life examples, students learned how to recognize bullying behavior and the importance of kindness, empathy, and respect. Ms. Shaikh also shared practical ways to deal with bullying, including speaking up, supporting peers, and seeking help from trusted adults.
The workshop encouraged students to be responsible bystanders and to work together in creating a safe, inclusive, and positive school environment. The session was engaging, informative, and well received by all participants.

MUN
The MUN at Oberoi International School’s JVLR campus proved to be a powerful platform for learning and growth for SIS students. The SIS delegate team of students from MYP, IG & DP represented their assigned countries with thorough research and strong diplomacy skills.The delegates actively contributed to committee debates, negotiations and resolution drafting.Their articulate speeches, collaborative approach and respect for diverse viewpoints reflected the school’s commitment to global citizenship and inquiry-based learning.The conference also fostered personal growth, as students demonstrated perseverance, open-mindedness and ethical responsibility.
Overall, the experience strengthened international-mindedness and reflected key attributes of the IB learner profile, particularly communicators and thinkers.

Art Trip
MYP students went on an enriching art trip to the Zarpurza Museum on 15th December 2025, where they explored a wide range of artworks and artifacts. The visit provided students with an opportunity to appreciate different art forms, understand cultural heritage, and connect their classroom learning with real-world artistic expressions. The experience was both educational and inspiring, encouraging students to observe, reflect, and engage with art in a meaningful way.

Sustainability
A session on sustainability and the importance of conserving trees and natural habitats was conducted for our MYP students. The usefulness of various plants and ecosystems was explained in a clear and engaging manner. Mr. Vineet Vohra from the Give Me Trees Trust led this insightful session, encouraging students to appreciate and protect the natural world around them.

Library-Scavenger Hunt Activity
A scavenger hunt activity was conducted for the students of MYP3, designed to help the students explore the library’s resources, develop research skills, and become confident in locating information independently .
They were paired and a question chit was given to each pair to hunt for the answers from the library resources. Research work was completed by them in their journals. Activity was filled with enthusiasm among the students to complete the activity first and it kept them engaged as they were required to navigate the library section, identify key features of information sources, and use both resources and time effectively.

Adolescence awareness and guidance
As our students navigate adolescence, the need for timely awareness and guidance becomes the call of the hour. To address these concerns, a structured session led by experienced healthcare professionals was organised for our MYP students. Dr. Rahul and Ms. Sawani from SCEW (Symbiosis Centre of Emotional Well-being) engaged the students through an open question–answer session and thoughtfully curated videos. The session sensitively helped them understand these transitions in a healthy, informed, and responsible manner.

Kaleidoscope Lit fest
The students of Symbiosis International School, participated in the Inter-School Literary Fest named Kaleidoscope hosted by MIT Vishwashanti Gurukul on 1st of November, 2025. The event brought together young talents from various institutions to showcase their literary skills, creativity, and confidence across multiple competitive categories. A team of enthusiastic students represented our school and participated in events including Monologue, Cosmocon, Spell Bee, and Literary Interview. Their exceptional preparation, dedication, and passion for literature were evident throughout the competition.
Daksh Bhagtani and Kabir Jagwanee of MYP 2 won the first and second positions in Monologue respectively.
Divyanka Bhosle and Vanaya Panjwani of MYP 2 secured the 2nd spot in this event.
Swara Sule from MYP1 won the second position in Cosmocon.
MYP 1 student Diansh Dogra’s performance was noteworthy in the Spell Bee Competition.
Fatima Asad and Siddhiksha Roy of MYP 1 were highly appreciated for their performances in Cosmocon.

Hindi Diwas Celebration
The school celebrated Hindi Diwas with great enthusiasm through a series of competitions and activities for MYP students. MYP 1 students showcased their talent in Poem Recitation and Paragraph Writing competitions, MYP 2 participated in Poem Recitation and Essay Writing competitions, while MYP 3 expressed their creativity through Poem Recitation and Autobiography Writing competitions. Adding to the spirit of the occasion, Hindi students organized engaging activities such as a Vocabulary Game, Quiz, and Presentations for their peers. The event culminated in a special assembly for the entire school, highlighting the achievements of the participants and spreading awareness about the richness and significance of the Hindi language.

Mental Well-being- Symbiosis Lavale and MUN
Samaira Marwah from MYP 1-B secured 2nd place in the “Mental Well-being” competition held today at Symbiosis Lavale campus. Competing against doctors and medical professionals nationwide, she won in the reels and short films category with a self-acted short film on the impact of stress, anxiety, and unsupportive peers on work performance.
Samaira Marwah won the Best Position Paper Award as the Delegate of Egypt at the MUN.

Our school symbiosis International recently celebrated Spanish Day with great enthusiasm and joy. The event showcased the vibrant culture, language, and traditions of Spanish-speaking countries. 'Cyber security Awareness' week
To celebrate Cybersecurity Awareness Month and raise awareness about cybersecurity threats and best practices. A host of events were lined up for our MYP students.
Expert Session by Mr. Rahat Raheja, Division President of Amdocs India, along with his colleague Mr. Adarsh Makwana, Information Security Manager. This session focused on the importance of cybersecurity, current threats, and how to mitigate them. The resource persons shared valuable insights from the professional cybersecurity domain, making the session both informative and engaging.

Child Entrepreneur Featured on FM Radio
Kabir Jagwanee - MYP 1 A featured in an interview with RJ Tia from Fever FM 94.3 on Children’s Day 14th November 2024. Kabir shared his story of being a Child Entrepreneur who has started his own business with his Older brother Gaurav Jagwanee from IGCSE 2.
Their venture is called Brick Builders Community and they have a vision of teaching as many children to indulge in lego play so they develop a new constructive hobby and spend time away from the screen.

All India Football tournament in Chiplun
Dhruv Mistry from MYP 2B, Varad Mahajan (MYP 2A) and Rudraveer Singh Thakur (MYP 1C) went to a football tournament in Chiplun. This was an "All India Tournament" and they went unbeaten with 4 wins and 1 draw.

Devansh Navalakha has secured 2nd place in 2 events (2 silver medals) in his age group (11-14) at Maharashtra State Skating Championship in Mumbai and will be representing Maharashtra in National Skating Championship in Bangalore from 4th of December 2024.

Children's Mental health week
JAR ACTIVITY: -MYP-1 (6th Grade)
Filling the jar with feelings colors to show how much of each feeling they were having right now.
Objective: -To recognize, express and manage emotions in a healthy way.
MIRROR ACTIVITY:-
The students were asked to write and draw all the things that come in their mind after seeing their self image in the mirror.
Objective: -To develop deeper understanding of themselves and others, fostering empathy and self-awareness.
SAFE SPACE BUILDING ACTIVITY: -MYP-2 (7th Grade)
The students visualized their safe space through guided imagery and then were asked to draw it on a sheet of paper.

Marathi Bhasha Divas
Marathi Diwas is a significant day celebrated by the people of Maharashtra to commemorate the birth anniversary of the famous Marathi poet, Vishnu Vaman Shirwadkar, also known as Kusumagraj.
MYP students honored Maharashtra's vibrant culture through a theatrical portrayal of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj's life, highlighting his courage, leadership, and legacy. They also melodiously sang Marathi songs, enhancing the essence of Maharashtra.

Science Day
Celebrating National Science Day in school provides an excellent opportunity to inspire students to delve into scientific concepts and cultivate a scientific mindset. To commemorate the event, our MYP students designed scientific newspapers, produced science movies on topics like "Reimagine, Recreate, Restore," "Green Jobs," "Science for Global Welfare," and "AI Science," and hosted an engaging exhibition. These activities enabled them to demonstrate their scientific understanding, creativity, and innovation. The students showed great enthusiasm for their tasks, and we deeply appreciate their dedication and hard work in bringing these projects to life.

MYP Concert
This year’s annual concert, titled Awesome, was a spectacular performance based on The Wizard of Oz. Students from MYP 1, 2, and 3 came together to deliver an outstanding show, the result of nearly two months of sincere and dedicated rehearsals. The combined efforts of the teaching and non-teaching staff played a vital role in bringing the production to life. The auditorium resonated with applause and cheers from proud and enthusiastic parents, making the event a truly memorable one.

French Day performances in the school auditorium were nothing short of spectacular! The stage transformed into a slice of France, draped in blue, white, and red. Students dazzled the audience with a variety of lively acts like singing and dancing to the tunes of French songs, a mini fashion show, and even a tour through the French art exibition. The day was a delightful celebration of French language, food, fashion, and flair—ooh là là, magnifique!

On World Theatre Day, celebrated on March 27th, MYP 1 students presented Anton Chekhov's The Sneeze, which was adapted into Hindi. While the students initially faced challenges performing in Hindi, their perseverance and dedication paid off, resulting in a successful performance. Through consistent hard work and regular practice, the students delivered a memorable show that had the audience cheering for an encore.

The Community Project Culmination event held on 4th April 2025 was a vibrant celebration of student agency, collaboration, and social responsibility. MYP students showcased the outcomes of their year-long projects through engaging displays, presentations, and creative visual aids. Each group highlighted the global context they explored, the challenges they addressed, and the impact they aimed to create within their communities. The event provided an excellent platform for students to reflect on their learning journey, demonstrate ATL skills such as communication and collaboration, and engage meaningfully with peers, teachers, and guests. The culmination not only celebrated student effort but also reinforced the importance of service and action in the real world.

MYP3 Farewell
The MYP3 Bash was a dynamic and student-led event organized by MYP 2 learners. With the creative theme of "Masquerade," the celebration was filled with color, excitement, and meaningful engagement. Students demonstrated their communication and artistic skills through captivating dance and singing performances. Brain teaser games were designed to challenge the audience’s thinking and promote intellectual curiosity. The entire event reflected the learners’ ability to collaborate and take initiative. Participants displayed the IB learner profiles of being risk-takers, communicators, and thinkers throughout the program. The masquerade theme encouraged students to express themselves through costume and creativity. Learner profile certificates were distributed to acknowledge individual growth and contributions. The event fostered a strong sense of community and intercultural understanding among the students. Overall, the MYP3 Bash was a successful celebration of student agency, talent, and the IB spirit.

हिंदी दिवस समारोह
14 सितंबर को सिंबायोसिस अंतरराष्ट्रीय विद्यालय में राजभाषा हिंदी के सम्मान में 'हिंदी दिवस समारोह' आयोजित किया गया। जिसमें अपने नृत्य, संगीत एवं अभिनय कला द्वारा हिंदी विद्यार्थियों ने हिंदी भाषा के सफ़र को अत्यंत खूबसूरती से प्रस्तुत किया। उनकी अनुपम प्रस्तुति ने सभी का मन मोह लिया । इसके अलावा आत्मकथा लेखन, निबंध लेखन, अनुच्छेद लेखन, कविता पाठ आदि प्रतियोगिताओं का आयोजन भी कक्षा ६,७,८ के हिंदी विद्यार्थियों के लिए किया गया।
Gratitude Week
Students of MYP celebrated GRATITUDE WEEK to cultivate the habit of being grateful for every good thing that comes to them. Gratitude means more than simply saying thank you. Gratitude is taking a moment to reflect on how lucky you are when something good happens, whether it's small or big. Although we most often experience gratitude in response to the actions of other people, we can feel grateful to nonhuman sources, too, such as nature, a higher power, or the universe. All these were done through different activities like creating thank you cards and presenting them to the people they feel are important to them, poster making, gratitude tree, watching videos, and understanding the importance of gratitude in our lives.
Inter Class Debate Competition
The MYP 3 interclass debate competition was held on the 15th of September 2023. Debate is one of the academic activities that give students creative room to express what they feel. The aim of organizing a debate competition was to hone the public speaking skills of the students and teach them to be articulate while expressing their thoughts and opinions. The two teams debated for and against the motion, ‘Academics are better than Sports'. Students were assessed on Organization and clarity, Use of Facts and Statistics, Use of Cross-Examination and rebuttal, and Presentation style. The Debate opened with strong speeches from both teams followed by an engaging rebuttal round. They exhibited great oratory skills. The competition was an enthralling experience for the speakers as well as the audience.
Insights from Industry Experts
"Exploring the Art of Logo Design", to enrich their understanding of the subject with real-world insights, a guest session was organized on 21st September 2023 for MYP3 students. Ms. Amisha Sheth and Ajinkya, industry experts in graphic design and digital marketing, led the session. Ms. Amisha is the Founder and CEO of Cranberry, a renowned Graphic Design & Digital Marketing Studio. The resource persons shared their knowledge and expertise on the various elements and aspects of designing Logos. The session was interactive and kept the students engaged throughout.
Kavi Sammelan
11th of October is celebrated as the International Day of the Girl Child. In an endeavor to promote the 5th Sustainable Development Goal formulated by the United Nations of achievement of gender equality and empowerment of women and girls, the Individuals & Societies department and MYP 2 students of Symbiosis International School decided to have a poetry writing competition on the 13th of October in order to commemorate the above-given theme.
The students of MYP 2 along with the I&S department used this beautiful art of poetry to raise their voices for this noble cause. Students wrote poems of their own, supporting this theme and cause. They wrote about personalities fighting for this cause from different geographic locations and cultures of the world. They also used this platform to write about the daily challenges that girls or women face regardless of which economic strata of society they belong to. The shortlisted finalist recited their own poem in a 'Kavi Sammelan', that was organized on the 20th of October, 2023.
Cybersecurity Week
To celebrate the 'Cyber Security Awareness' month, a series of events were organized to spread awareness among our students of cybersecurity threats and best practices.

"Strength in unity, champions in tug of war!". An Inter class Tug of War competition was conducted for MYP students on 27th October. Truly a demonstration of team work and strength.
Reyansh Karia -Achievement
Reyansh Karia achieved 5th Position BU13 CSK ISQUASH Open, and 3rd position BU13 MSA Maharashtra State Closed Championship. His win is testament to the rigorous training, dedication, and perseverance he has put into honing skills, setting an example for aspiring young athletes. We are immensely proud of Reyansh and his incredible victory.

महाराष्ट्राची परंपरा आणि संस्कृतीचा एक भाग म्हणून, MYP 3 च्या विद्यार्थ्यांनी 12 जानेवारी 2024 रोजी मकर संक्रांतीच्या निमित्ताने महाराष्ट्रीय पोशाख परिधान केला होता. विद्यार्थ्यांनी या सणाचे महत्त्व सांगून सादरीकरण केले. त्यांनी शाळेभोवती फिरून पारंपारिक मिठाईचे वाटप केले आणि सर्वांना तिळगूळ घ्या गोड बोला अशा शुभेच्छा दिल्या.
