U have been shining since time immemorial in all your glory. Fire, Wind, Earth, Water, and everything living on this plane: all owe their existence to u.

O mighty one: u are the first hand cause and witness of life evolution on Earth. U have caused and witnessed the formation of primitive life in the primordial sea through the forces of electromagnetic storms, thunder and lightning. The genesis of auto-catalyzing amino acids that heralded life on Earth was your making.

U have fuelled the evolution of mighty creatures that have come and gone. But for u it was a mere blimp in your almost immortal lifespan. U have seen the arrival of the great dinosaurs that ruled the Earth. U were witness to their cataclysmic extinction when that asteroid from space slammed into the Earth. I wonder what were your thoughts then. Was it any event of significance for u? U have seen the rise of mammals and thereby we humans.

U have seen our evolution from primitive creatures to the so called sophisticated creatures that we have become today. U have witnessed the great Vedic age of mighty.

India, the great epics of Ramayana and Mahabharata from your abode at the centre of the Solar System. U have seen the arrival and departure of many a great soul and prophets. Rama, Krishna, Buddha, Mahavira, Christ, and other great saints and prophets have preached their messages to mankind and departed but u are still here.

U have seen the rise and fall of many a great dynasty. The Greeks, the Romans, the mongols, and their likes, they all came and went and yet u are still here shining with all your glory. All these happenings are nothing but mere hours with respect to your lifespan.

U have witnessed the dark ages, renaissance, Industrial Revolution and the false sense of mastery over nature that we humans developed in our ignorance.

We humans enacted two history altering World Wars and have now the potential to turn your Earth into a nuclear and thermal wasteland and yet U are unchanged in all your splendour and might.

Do I sense that u are smiling at all the petty human fallacies and stupidity that is almost destroying your favourite daughter, Earth, through the twin forces of global warming and terrorism.

Now we are studying u through giant space telescopes and space probes. And u have revealed newer aspects of ur multidimensional nature. The sight of solar storms erupting periodically from your surface and rocketing electromagnetic particles zillions of miles into interstellar space is just awe inspiring even to those that have not made the effort to comprehend your greatness. Even the close up shots of u from approaching space probes inspire the highest of wonder and reverance.

And now we humans are flirting with our own extinction due to our ignorance.

Will u witness our end. Would that day be of any event to u O mightiest of the mighty? But for u that would be yet another blimp in your stellar lifespan.

U would still be here shining in all your glory long after we are gone. I wonder whether u would miss us, leave alone shed a tear.

This Person in the sun is eternal. He is the Lord of all creatures. He who meditates thus upon Him attains union with Brahman and lives in the same region of enjoyment with Him; he attains union, co-residence and like-enjoyment with these gods in their worlds. The secret knowledge is thus imparted.

XV-2: Aditya, the supreme cause of the universe, is the giver of light and water and is the source of all energy. SUN POWERING US THROUGH SOUND

THE SOLAR PARADOX SOLVED:

Our Sun has a very interesting feature, its corona or the outer rim is hotter than its core.

And that is a solar paradox. We generally tend to expect the opposite: the core

hotter than the surface as in our mother Earth. But in the case of the Sun, the opposite

is true. Physicists have wrangled with the problem and very recent cutting edge Solar

research has found a possible scientifically acceptable answer.

They attribute this paradox to seismic solar sound waves that emanate from the solar core

and move towards its surface. But these sound waves are beyond hearing range

and are titanic involving a large area of the solar surface. And these same waves heat

up the surface, which in turn radiate photons that power our world and indeed the entire

solar system.

In my discussions with a Hindu scholar, Mr. Meenakshi_Sundaram, recently, I was told

that the genesis of our creation as explained in the Vedas is Lord Narayana who creates

us through the Sun using the primordial sound vibrations.. OM...Interesting isn't it???

Now science is indeed seconding it...amazing.

WHAT ARE THESE SOUNDS AND IS THE SUN COMMUNICATING:

First of all, science has to investigate what these sounds will sound to the human ear if

played in our sonic hearing range. Secondly, do these sound vibrations have any particular

frequency and possibly meaning???

That the stars, planets, and other heavenly bodies are communicating with each other has

been mentioned umpteen times in the Vedas. Science has still to corroborate this.

But now the solar sound waves seem to open a window.

COMMUNICATION IS A SCIENTIFIC POSSIBILITY TO MAINTAIN ORBITAL FIDELITY.

If our human body can be maintained in equilibrium thru complex biochemical communication

to and fro from various ends of the body, why would it not be logical to apply this reason

for the maintenance of orbital fidelity of various planets, say in our own solar system.

(I define orbital fidelity as the maintaining of the same orbit around the mother body).

Millions of years have passed since the creation of the Solar System, but orbital fidelity

has been maintained like a well oiled machine. Now is this just a consequence of raw

laws of physics, or due to effective management and communication by the chief of the

Solar System, our Sun with his planets and the planets in turn with their satellites.

ORBITAL FIDELITY POINTS TO HIGHER REALMS:

Yes, orbital fidelity indeed points to a higher truth for this heavenly bodies. If they indeed are higher beings

as the Vedas vouch, then they are a paragon of accountability, truth, and integrity.

THEY NEVER STALL IN THE DELIVERANCE OF THEIR DUTIES. THEY COMPLETE

THEIR ORBITS IN TIME, NOT JUST NOW, BUT ARE DOING SO FOR THE PAST

MILLIONS OF YEARS AND MOST LIKELY CONTINUE TO DO SO TILL OUR SUN DIES.

All this also reflects the integrity of the Sun himself. Sub ordinal integrity of such heights can

only be achieved if the leader is truth himself. And that is what the Vedas tell of the SUN

and I become ecstatic as I recite: SATYO MITRO... (The Sun is truth personified).

Lots to think about and with the Sun it never ceases to rouse our intellectual curiosity and amaze.

SUN: A SUPER MANAGEMENT GURU

SUN: A MANAGEMENT SUPER-GURU

As science reveals more and more mysteries of our Cosmos and our own backyard

sub-cosmos, the Solar System, it increasingly looks like a product of super

precision management rather than just the product of raw physical laws of our universe.

Even the so called management gurus of the corporate worlds have valuable lessons

here to learn about super management resulting from super-integrity.

As we all know, the Sun has been effectively managing/communicating for eons

with his planetary sub ordinates, and they in turn with their sub ordinate satellites, and

maintaining the Solar System for millions of years, steering it effectively through many cataclysmic

events, managing cometary paths, managing each planet effectively in its own tailored way.

(the planets are varied in nature.. Jupiter is a gas-giant, Venus is a Sulphuric acid thermal

hell hole, Earth has life which the Sun has himself cultivated and grown over the ages and now increasingly

looking to self destruct, the external planets like Uranus, Neptune... have their own geo-chemistry,

Pluto has a different plane of orbit. Also some of these planets like Jupiter and Saturn

are themselves sub-managers, managing their own sub systems with multi satellites and environs with super precision for eons). Moreover, the Sun has also to contend with interstellar interactions with

neighbouring stars in our galaxy and their stellar systems and things like dark matter, dark energy, and

possible black holes above its own system.

If all of these have to be managed simultaneously with atomic clock precision, then the Sun

is a Super-management guru, offering even modern corporate worlds lessons to tackle their

most knotty problems like maintaining accountability, integrity, multi-management etc. etc.

SUPER-MANAGEMENT IS A RESULT OF SUPER-INTEGRITY

The repercussions for error in such systems are enormous, both when looked at from an astronomical

and astrological frame of reference. In astronomy, precise calculations for predicting future events

like eclipses, rendezvous for space probe launch, take for granted the accountable and mathematical

predictability and precision of the planets, comets, satellites, and other orbitals in their orbits. Any micro

error would throw everything out of gear. Similarly, in astrology, these very same precise calculations

have enormous implications on the future. Any error here would create wide deviations in future predictions

as even astrology takes for blind faith the precision of the orbitals in our solar system. If our Vedas

vouch on the planets affecting our fates and future, the orbital precision is an ABSOLUTE MUST.

If the Sun and some of his subordinates have decided on an multi-alignment, say a year from

now, on a particular day and precise time right down to the minute.... IT HAPPENS as has

been happening for millions of years and as will continue to be. NOW THAT IS SUPER ACCOUNTABILITY.

Super-management by the Sun, as we can see from the reasoning above, is a result of super-

integrity of himself and his orbitals. The standards set here are gargantuan and beyond human comprehension. That they have been consistently maintained for eons is mind boggling

and hair-raising indeed but this is something we humans could at least try to emulate to increase our efficiency to way beyond what we have in today's world in the conduct of our day to day affairs.

LOOKING BEYOND THE SOLAR SYSTEM:

The Sun is just one star of the billions in our Milky Way galaxy as we all know and now it increasingly

looks like, its duties and functions and planet management are just part of a higher galactic function

of the Milky Way. Precise management of its system is absolutely essential to ensure the higher functions

of the galaxy. It is just like organs in the human body, that have to manage their own complex bio-systems in

order to ensure the higher function of the body as a whole. In this regard, the galaxies themselves

may have their own functions and management and may be just part of galactic clusters, the existence

of which is proven by telescopes like Hubble and these galactic clusters could be part of an even higher

function super-clusters which in turn makes our cosmos; our cosmos just part of a multi-universe and who knows where this all ends.

As Lord Yama explains to the brilliant seeker Nachiketa in the Taitriya Kaataka:

VEDA- VA ETE, ANANTA VAI VEDA... (This knowledge and universe are infinite with no end)

The legend of Syamanthaka

Solar Energy converted to mass:

In fact, the Legend of Syamantaka Gem as recounted in the Hindu book Shrimad Bhagavatam, ratifies this.

According to the great book, this jewel was gifted to King Satrajit, who was a great

devotee of the Sun God, and to whom the Sun gifted the gem as a boon. The

jem was so radiant that whenever Sattrajit used to wear it, he was as radiant as

the Sun God himself and used to be mistook for him. (Later Krishna goes on a relentless

pursuit and epic quest in the recovery of this gem that gets lost through various chain of events that can

even beat the best of the movie scripts)

Regardless the story goes that the possessor of the gem, would daily get 8 ounces of gold and blessed

with infinite health and fearlessness.

(And the story of the gem itself, is so parallel to the LORD OF THE RINGS

TRILOGY, which grossed millions at the box office. In fact, I vouch

that JR TOKIEN, the author of LOR, lifted the idea for his book straight out of

the Shrimad Bhagavatha. Remember that Shreemadh Bhagavata is far far

ancient than LOR.)

Also, I emphasize that it is possible to harness the Sun for infinite health and happiness.

Only that science has not found a material way yet, but the Vedas vouch that it is

spiritually possible.

A possible scientific explanation RE: Syamantaka gem.

A gem, that gives 8 ounces of gold everyday to its possessor plus infinite health,

fearlessness, and freedom from all disease. Could this be plausible scientifically.

First of all we have to ask the following question as to why it is a gem from the Sun and why

it couldn't be something else. Could current science give us any possible explanation. Also

it is the Sun and not any other source or Gods...Why???

To answer this question one has to to look into LASERs, which are coherent and concentrated

beams of light capable of cutting through material. Lasers also have lots of practical applications

today in everyday technology and its applications are spreading into many uncharted areas even

as I write this. So what have lasers got to do with all this.

Gem stones like rubies are routinely used in the production of lasers, by Light Amplification by

Stimulated Emission. Without going

into all the technical aspects of laser production, these lasers then become an intense focused beam

of photon (light energy), capable of cutting through even metal.

If light can be focused and cut through metal by concentrating it into a thin beam, it is only logical

that if the concentration is increased to ultra high levels, the energy could transmute to mass by

reversing Einstein's equation of conversion of mass into energy. After all, mass is nothing but

a concentrated form of dormant energy. The protons, electrons, and the neutrons that make up the

atoms of mass exhibit dual nature (matter and wave). Correspondingly matter is nothing but just

another form of energy. It matter can become energy, it should be possible for the reverse to

be true. (And this reverse happens in the centre of galaxies where young stars are formed)

It should be possible for gems like Syamantha to exist in our universe or maybe even possibly designed

by scientists. Such gems would produce enormously concentrated lasers even when exposed to

normal light... And then transmutation to mass would be just the next step.

Then again, what kind of mass... it could become anything...gold, copper, coal, mud etc etc...

It should be again theoretically possible to fine tune this to get the desired outcome. Therefore

when the Hindu epics like the Shrimad Bhaagavatha say that the Syamantha gives 8 ounces

of gold daily to its possessor, this is not some mambo-jumbo black magic... JUST PLAIN

TRANSMUTATION OF PHOTON ENERGY TO MASS. It is also quite possible that the

Syamantha is programmed to transmute energy into gold specifically. There could be then

other gems specifically yield other materials or the Syamantha could itself be tuned to give

something new specifically. And why 8 ounces.. the answer is simple. If light energy is quanta

so also the corresponding mass.

Regardless, the transmutation of energy to mass will BE THE NEXT GIANT LEAP in mankind's quest

for unlocking the mysteries of our cosmos. If that could be routinely achieved by

technology, WE WOULD HAVE THEN PROMOTED OURSELVES TO THE LEVEL OF THE

DEVAS,.. higher beings and could then solve in any eyeblink almost all of our day to day problems like

hunger, pestilence, disease, wars, greed, jealousy, anger, etc etc.. as we are bathed by

an almost infinite ocean of solar energy which could be transmuted to any material that

we desire. And this is what gems like the Syamantha are all about

Can the Gods really give us health and wealth?

It is often repeated in the Hindu Pantheon to pray to the Gods for increased health and wealth?

Now does this really make sense from a scientific point of view, one wonders. Is it

possible to transmute faith into health and wealth? Is there a scientific basis? I was pondering on

this last night and IMHO, came to the conclusion that it is indeed possible.

For this let's again look towards our eternal friend in the sky, the unsung Sun who has been

showering his benevolence on us for aeons and aeons and whom we humans could easily take

for granted in the course of our day to day mundane lives. (I have talked about this from a

different angle in a previous set of emails on PRIMARY INTELLIGENCE and RITUALS)

The Sun is verily the source of all life on Earth, of that there is no scientific dispute.

Indeed both science and the Vedas have endowed immortal tributes to the Sun. Sceince has ratified this time and again through its multipronged approach. Biochemical processes has shown that the Sun is the primary source of the food chain on the planet through photosynthesis. Even astronomy and modern

space probes are now vouching for the Sun's primary role in maintaining life on Earth and even the entire Solar System. The Maha_Narayana Upanishad has paid glowing tributes to the might of the Sun God in two paragraph sentences. A chanter reciting these with precision, is moved to an electrifying and ecstatic experience.

Coming back to science, the modern solar probes have found the Sun as a seething inferno of hydrogen fusion, a relatively infinite source of energy. When I say infinite, I say this with respect to the finiteness of life on Earth. (Even the Sunis expected to run out of fuel in millions of year's time but for us that is nothing but infinity). The periodic electromagnetic solar storms, erupting millions of miles into inter-stellar space from the Sun's surface are an awe inspiring super energy spectacle that never cease to amaze. The cyclic seasons on Earth, its tides, winds, its multi eco systems are fuelled by the Sun, not to mention of the processes on other planets. (The super storms on Jupiter have solar origins.)

Now the question to ask is how does all of this make an equation with personal well being and prosperity?

For this I'm quoting a brilliant line from the concluding part of the Maha_Narayana Upanishad, a line that makes

absolute scientific sense. (The laws of conservation of energy and mass comes into play and so also

Einstein's immortal equation E = m X c X c where E = Energy m = mass and c = Velocity of light.)

Thus one can see that material food is transmuted to physical and mental energies. But science tells us that

the Sun is the source of all food and hence the solar photons -----> transmutes to physical and mental energies through this indirect process.

That food plays a vital part in the brain's mental processes in addition to conferring us with health is established by sceince beyond doubt. The brain is ravenous in its apetite for pure glucose and uses these to fuel the biochemical processes controlling thought through fundamental processes like the Kreb's cycle. So in an indirect way the Sun is also our intellect. Whatever great thoughts we think is nothing but solar energy transmuted. Now if the Sun is the source of our intellect, isn't he a God to us? Now this is regardless of whether one believes in the Vedic scriptures or not. If the Sun is the source of our intellect that we take great pride of, what would be the intellectual power of He that powers an entire solar system. Just ponder on this... It's raises the hair on your skin and makes one realize that there is a visible God right above us in the sky and whom we need to pray with the utmost of devotion.

Now how does this all euate to material prosperity?

The answer is simple. Modern wealth, especially in these days of technology and IT are nothing but

the capacity of a person's intellect. The better a person is at his job or business venture intellectually, the more material prosperity he generates. We have already shown above our intellect is nothing but the

manifestation of Solar energy. Now it indeed makes sense that praying to the Sun can also confer us material prosperity. Just think about this.

Whether one believes in prayer or Gods is moot, but let's consider this from a totally rational and scientific angle.

Life here on Earth is harnessing only a small zillionth of a fraction of the daily energy output of the Sun. Even the most sophisticated of man-made solar cells haven't even come close to even the photosynthetic ability if some plants in tapping solar power. Much of it is dissipated into heat. If mass can be transmuted to energy, the reverse is also possible even though this is an entropically upward journey. So even if one is able to scientifically

transmute even a fraction of the Sun's super abundant energy into health, wealth, and longevity, one could do wonders for oneself.

Maybe one day science would find a way for this direct path, but that's decades away, IMHO if not centuries.

The Vedas say that this transmutation can be effected through prayers and rituals for the Gods. (Is that not the reason why astrologers recommend special graha (planetary) poojas and rituals to usher in individual prosperity??) But whether one believes in the power of prayers and rituals or not is entirely one's disposition and choice. As in the Hindu way... it's freedom of choice.... But even for a non-believer the Sun is our Supreme Lord,

the Omnipresent Brahman. There is no need to seek. He is already up there in the sky... And again Believe it or not.

IMany philosophers tell us the often repeated

'Thou art that" ie., U are the universe and the universe is you.

But for a lay mind, it is difficult to comprehend this philosophy. (not everybody

is a Shankara) That is why we need to come up with ways to explain and make

scientific sense.so that even those unfamiliar with the treasures buried in the Hindu

Vedas become aware of what is available. (But my email intent is in no way to

preach Hinduism except to point out the fact that even for the so called rational

scientific minds, THE SUN CANNOT BE BUT A GOD.)

But this explanation of the Sun and that too from a totally scientific perspective

could try to do that. What we need to note here that the explanation in my original email

DOES NOT violate scientific laws. THERE ARE NO MIRACLES HERE. Just the law

of transmutation of energy and mass. Mass to energy is a down hill process and

for those familiar with thermodynamics, an entropically favoured process. The

other way around, energy to mass, is not that common in our visible universe

The plants achieve this journey of energy to mass through a very indirect route involving

thousands of biochemical enzymes and processes. Scientifically, direct transmutation

is an energy-utopia. The step in the right direction would be to design better solar cells

that almost come to 90% efficiency (energy to energy). Then maybe another day in the distant future

a brilliant scientist may achieve direct transmutation. (100% efficiency energy to energy

and then energy to mass

But the Vedas say that this can be achieved by rituals, faith, prayers, and devotion.

So till the day science comes up with the key, we can make use of what is available

to us at hand.

Reversing Global warming .

With Global warming threatening our very existence on this planet,

I'm sure that there are lots of scientists who are now furiously working

on processes to reverse this trend (i.e., to reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere).

I\ow they are talking about trapping the CO2 underground, but I wonder whether this would lead to another unanticipated problem. What about trying an alternate solution??

What about copying the photosynthesis ability of plants?

If we can build giant solar powered synthetic photosynthetic membranes that can trap the CO2 and then convert the CO2 into O2 and other useful bio-organic byproducts like alcohol, carbohydrates, the pollution process could be effectively reversed. Anyway this has been nature's way since the dawn of life on earth to effectively balance CO2 and Oxygen. We could use the help of photosynthetic enzymes on a mass scale on this artificial membrane. These membranes also need to have a high degree of efficacy when it comes to tapping solar power.

Here again our great friend and grandparent, the Sun, could come to our rescue. I'm sure that other scientific minds would have ruminated on this but I haven't heard anything in this regard. Have any of u? ps let me know.

Of course, there is a straight forward way to achieve this by increasing the global forest cover. But considering the amount of CO2 belched out all over the globe by industries like thermal power stations on a daily basis (24/7) this natural solution grossly seems to be inadequate. Moreover global forest cover is under ever increasing threat. That is why we need something drastic.

One can envision such giant artificial photosynthetic membranes adjacent to factories and places of very high traffic like city down towns where the CO2 emissions are high and can be nipped in the bud before they spread in the atmosphere and wreak havoc.

I would like to hear some feedback regarding this.

Another big factor to consider is that almost all of the global economic engines are closely coupled with global

warming processes. We have to find effective ways of decoupling these processes from GW without sending

the global economy into a tailspin. The problem is that we are not factoring in the ecological costs of

human enterprise.

We have come to a critical crossroad where we should make a crucial decision: Whether to continue on

our GW pathway in order to preserve our global economy or take the courage to decouple risking global

economic collapse no doubt as its consequence but avoiding total ecological collapse and thereby

unsalvagable economic ruin in the long run.

TAKING FOR GRANTED THE AIR WE BREATH (GLOBAL WARMING)

With the increasing concentrations of CO2 in the air, accelerating at an exponential

pace, even as I type this, one wonders for how much long can we even take

even the air that we breath for granted. Apparently, the oceans of the world have

reached their capacity to absorb excess CO2 from the air and the other CO2

absorber, the forests, are rapidly shrinking every day.

Forget about GW, the water shortage, the toxic chemicals, which are anyways here,

what about the air we breath????

What if one day the Earth's atmosphere gets saturated with CO2 and the

OXYGEN ------> CO2 equilibrium is totally destroyed...what would happen then..

we could all suffocate to death and mass exterminations of humanity will

result in just a blink of an eye..

And just like in outer space and underwater, where Astronauts and divers have to

use Oxygen tanks to breath in order to live, we may need oxygen tanks even

to conduct our day to day lives on this planet...

WHERE WILL WE GO THEN AND WHERE WILL WE HIDE??? This Earth of ours is an island in this part

of our Universe... It is surrounded by an ocean of space and once our ecosystem

collapses due to our own stupidity, we are HOPELESSLY MAROONED on our

own Earth...(We do not have the technology as of yet to colonize outer space...???)

Indian Cricket Captain Rahul Dravid on Surya Namaskaram (Prayers to the Sun)

I'm sure some of u might have heard or read on the net regarding Indian

Cricket Captain Rahul Dravid recently extolling the benefits of Surya Namaskaram (The Prayers and exercise posters for the Sun God).

There are some Non-Hindus to whom I am sending this email and also sent the earlier emails on the Sun and I want to emphasize that I'm in no way intending to preach Hinduism. I'm doing this with all regards and respects to your beliefs and way of life.

Even if one does Surya Namaskaram (all the 12 exercise postures) regularly, without focussing on the aspect of the Sun as a God, the health and intellect benefits are immense. Just like doing Yoga for sole health benefits (Hatha Yoga).

DO PLANETS AND STARS HAVE LIVES OF THEIR OWN.

The other day a good friend of mine sent me this article where a well known

physicist talks about the possibilities of civilizations more advanced

than us existing just next door. To build his hypothesis he grades

civilizations on a scale of 0-3

Type 0 : Resides on a planet and consumes the resources of a planet

with limited life span say 100 years. We humans fall in this

category.

Type1: Becomes interplanetary. The energy requirements, lifespans

and the intelligence increases exponentially.

Type2: Becomes Interstellar... here the energy requirements,

lifespans and intelligence again increases exponentially with respect

to Type1

Type3: Becomes Intergalactic and here again the same defining

parameters increase exponentially with respect to Type2.

The author says that there could be a Type3 civilization living next

door in our own galaxy and we may not even be aware of them. Further

it makes no difference to them whether we exist or not. To illustrate

this example he quotes the classic example of an anthill adjacent to a

ten lane super highway, the anthill denoting us and the super highway

denoting the Type3 civilization. The ants are blissfully unaware of the

superhighway and it makes absolutely no sense in their lives. And the

humans using the superhighway pay no attention to the anthill even

if they are aware of its existence.

When I started pondering about this hypothesis, I decided to give my

own interpretation to this idea. My hypothesis is that higher

civilizations can exist but they need not be living organisms like you

and me or any other organism with secondary intelligence.

IMHO, they are right in front of us.. only that we are not looking at

them in a way they can be comprehended and that we are only looking at

them in our narrow sensory perceptions.

IMHO, if we humans are Type0, the satellites like the Moon and asteroids are

type1.

The planets, and comets are Type2 and the stars Type3 and if you do look at

their

lifespans and energy requirements they do indeed fit in neatly in the

criteria that was used by the physicist. The only other point

remaining is intelligence. Could these seemingly inert heavenly

bodies be living entities with their own consciousness and

intelligence. The answer could be YES and I have already discussed

about this issue in my earlier email trilogy regarding the PRIMARY

intelligence and consciousness inherent in matter. These entities

could be in constant communication with others of their kind and

pay homage to higher entities... like the planets do to the sun

and without whom, the planets also perish.

Our Vedas, Shastras, and Puraanaas describe the stars and planets as

powerful dieties with powers to affect our lives and there could be a

very strong hypothesis supporting this fact. The nava-grahaas, The Ashwini

twins, all the 27 birth stars, etc. etc. are some relevant examples. Just like there are

varied individuals in the human race, there could also be varied planets and

stars with their own individual characteristics and powers.

And they may also have the power to transmute (take avataar) in

civilizations at a lower level. Which means they could easily wander

amongst

us in the garb of humans and they could be masters of time and space travel.

But a Type1 entity cannot wander or transmute into a Type2

or higher world

unless by meeting the gargantuan energy requirements of the higher world.

And this

could be achieved by prayer and grace of the higher entity. By grace it

would then

also be possible for a Type0 entity to directly attain Type3 and beyond.

Doesn't these make good sense with what our shaastraas have been saying

all the time? A good example is whenthe great Dhruva became a star by the grace of Vishnu.

The more powerful the deity, the higher the stellar entity. So deities like

Indra

et al. could be a quasar or some other super-high energy entity. Brahma the

creator

could be a super-nova from which the stars are created. Shiva the destroyer

could be a black hole which consumes and destroys everything. Vishnu, the

Almighty could be something beyond and above these bodies or the totality as

described in the Vedas and the

Brahma Sutra. And Maha-Vishnu or Brahman or Shree Krishna Paramaatma could

be beyond all

these... the primordial matter.. the cause of all causes.

The evil Asuraas and the Raakshasaas could be universes of anti-matter. And

there

could be male and female planets and stars. Our own Earth described as

Bhumi-Devi

could be a female planet. Jupiter, Saturn, and the rest of the Navagrahaas

are

described as male in our shaastraas and veritably they do not bear any

biological life (Type0)

on their surface. Our 27 birth stars are described as females in the Vedas.

The Saptha Rishis

(Seven Sages) could be an all male constellation. This kind of speculation

is endless and very interesting.

They say good deeds in this life leads to merit and heaven. Heaven

could be

nothing but being reborn as a comet or a planet or even a star depending on

the level

of merit. Similarly when a comet or a planet perishes, he or she could get

demoted to

a lower enitity or even promoted to a higher entity depending on the karmic

merit.

IMHO, wouldn't it be great to be reborn as a star. The life time, the

knowledge and the experience of such a life in itself would be something

infinitely beyond our relatively ephemeral and insignificant human existence.

But even these heavenly bodies are nothing but compounds of the elemental

matter and

even their intelligence, albeit at an monstrously higher level than us,

could pale in front of

the super-consciousness and the primary intelligence of matter. And even

these

stars themselves could all the time be seeking this eternal goal. Again, aren't

the Vedas

saying this ad-infinitum.. the Devas themselves seek the Lord and Vaikunta.

A NEW APPROACH NEEDED IN THE STUDY OF PLANETS AND STARS?

A new approach is indeed needed in the study of planets, stars and other heavenly bodies. To begin with, let us take an example of an ant colony outside our home in the backyard garden. Now we know that the ant colony exists but we do not pay much attention to the ants because our day to day lives are not affected by the ants. Our realm of life does not coincide with those of the ants'. Moreover, our lives will go on regardless whether the ant colony exists or not. But, if a single ant intrudes into our living space and troubles us by biting us, we take immediate action by squashing it to death or even to go the extent of eliminating the ant colony itself. But in the same vein, had this ant in any way benefited our life hypothetically, we will make everything possible to ensure that the ant colony thrives. Therefore our actions depend on the manner in which the ant enters our world.

Applying similar reasoning, the planets and the stars are living in their own super realms and are carrying out their super-functions in this universe. They will go on doing this whether human civilization exists or not or even evolved on earth or any other planet to begin with. We are nothing but ants in the backyard of these super intelligent bodies. Whatever intelligence and intelligent creations like super computers that we take pride is entirely insignificant when it comes to the super intelligence of these higher bodies.

To know them and to understand them brute scientific enquiry alone may not be enough. Of course, I'm not in any way advocating that we have to do away with science. Science and logic are very very essential in our human world and scientific enquiry should never end. But now we may probably need to add REVERENCE and PRAYER whenever we send an inter-planetary or inter-stellar probe to study these magnificent super beings. Maybe that would alone open the key to higher knowledge. Brute scientific methods of enquiry based on human arrogance would only serve keep us roaming in blind alleys.

NASA's SEARCH FOR EXTRA-TERRESTRIAL INTELLIGENCE AN EXERCISE IN FUTILTY?

Just to add some more thoughts on my earlier email...

Here we have NASA which is expending a lot of time, energy, and resources to

track extra-terrestrial intelligence in outer space.

But then is there a need to search??? Those higher forms of life, intelligence,

and existence are right in front of us. The Sun, the moon, the planets, the stars,

the quasars...

Just that we need to look at them in a different light than what we have been doing so far.

As the MAHANARAAYANA UPANISHAD GOES about our own Sun.. (and it makes my hair stand in awe

whenever I recite this verse) The meaning in English is given below and unlocks many keys.

Aaditya vai teja ojo balam yashas-s-s-chakshush-s-shotra-m-aatma-mano-manyur-manur-mrutyu-s-

satyo-mitro vaayu-r-aakaasha-s-praano-loka-paala:-ka:-kim-kam-tat-satya-m-anna-m-amruto

jeevo-vishwa katama-s-svayambhu brahmaita-d-amruta esha purusha esha bhootaanam adhipathi-r-

brahmana-s-saayujyagum salokataa-m-aapnot-ye-taasaa-m-eva devataanaagum saayujyagum saarshtitaagum

samaana lokatta-m-aapnoti ya evam vede-t-yupasnishad.

XV-1: The sun alone is verily all these: -- energy, splendour, strength, renown, sight, hearing, body, mind, anger, Seer, the Deities Death, Satya, Mitra, Wind, Ether and Breath, the Rulers of the world, Prajapati, the Indeterminable One, happiness, that which transcends the senses, truth, food, (span of life), liberation or Immortality, individual Soul, the Universe, the acme of bliss and the self-born Brahman. This Person in the sun is eternal. He is the Lord of all creatures. He who meditates thus upon Him attains union with Brahman and lives in the same region of enjoyment with Him; he attains union, co-residence and like-enjoyment with these gods in their worlds. The secret knowledge is thus imparted.

XV-2: Aditya, the supreme cause of the universe, is the giver of light and water and is the source of all energy. He is denoted by the syllable Om. Gods worship Him as Tapas and Truth. (Being worshipped thus) He grants bliss to the worshippers. (Or the worshippers offer honey and sweet offerings to Him). That form of the sun is Brahman. That is the pervading cause of all. That is water, fire, flavour and ambrosia. The three Vyahritis representing the three worlds and the Pranava representing the cause of the universe denote that Brahman.

PS note the sentence in which the meaning says that HE WHO MEDITATES UPON HIM (THE SUN) attains union with Brahman and lives in the same region of enjoyment with him, attains union, co-residence and lkie-enjoyment wiith these Gods in their worlds. The secret knowledge is thus imparted.

This is what I was intending to say in my own 2 cents worth in my earlier email on the stars and planets. Merits in this life

could quite possibly lead us to a life in the realm of the stars and the planets.

DO RITUALS MAKE SENSE?? (A very important key to Hinduism)

Rituals are nothing but portals. I'll come to that later but we first need to agree about the existence of the Hindu pantheon of Gods. Is it really necessary to go inwards and go into Tapasya to know God. In my opinion the Gods of our worlds are already in front of our eyes in the form of planets and the stars. If not Gods, they are certainly beings of a far superior level of existence and intelligence with the power to affect our lives even when looked in scientific terms. The Vedas say this ad-infinitum and astrology corroborates this fact. And just like the case of the ant colony in our backyard these higher beings have the power to make and break us. If they are summoned with the proper decorum (rituals), they could usher immense benefits in our lives. Our own Sun is so powerful a deity (and also powerful even in practical scientific terms in terms of its energy) that a zillionth fraction of his power ( Karuna Kataaksham) could bring in immense energy, health, and prosperity in one's life. Similarly, incurring his anger could potentially destroy our lives in and out.

Coming back to rituals, yes they are portals through which we can communicate with these higher beings. If in the hypothetical case of an ant entering our world wanting to communicate with us, how are we to know what the ant wants unless the ant employs signals that we can decipher? In a similar vein, we need these rituals established in the Vedas to communicate with these planets and stars. Out of the countless souls in this world, how could these planets take notice of an individual soul intending communication with them unless the soul logs in through the proper portals… That is why each deity in our Shaastraas has its own set of rituals. The individual planets and stars have their own characteristics (even in scientific terms) and their own preferred way of calling. These are again well established in the Vedas and thus rituals do make scientific sense as well.

That is why it is very essential for scientists sending interplanetary probes in the future to include a ritualistic prayer to the planet or star along with the equipment of rigorous scientific examinations. When we seek entry into the world of a very powerful planet like Saturn (Shani), who also has a very dark side, according to the Vedas, one has to take extreme care. A scientific probe could very well trespass into Saturn's realm and could only serve to upset his planetary functions in the larger context of the solar system as well as the universe itself. This could in turn incur Saturn's wrath and the consequences could be extremely dire. For such a powerful being to wipe out an entire civilization could be nothing more than the batting of an eyelid. Our own planet Earth (Bhumi Devi) has been tolerating the excesses of human civilization for aeons because our Vedas say that Bhumi Devi is an epitome of monumental patience. Patience is then a hallmark of planet Earth's individual characteristics. But other planets need not be so and could be quick to virulent temper. Should we then really mess with such a powerful being by dealing with it without the proper rituals? It is akin to how wildlife experts emphasize about proper procedures in dealing and studying big and dangerous predators in the wild.

Whether we care to acknowledge Saturn as a God or not, we have to be aware that we are dealing with a very ancient entity that is prodigious in its knowledge and universal experience and extremely powerful even in practical scientific terms. Through its powerful astrological forces, it could easily annihilate the entire human race in an instant. That is why we need to approach these beings in total reverence and prayer before they reveal their secrets to us.

Regardless, I do see the future combining the forces of the Vedas and objective science in the study of outer space. IMHO, it is only this powerful combination that could unlock the mysteries of the multiverse

THE KNOWLEDGE POSTULATE< xml="true" ns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" prefix="o" namespace="">

After the laws of conservation of mass and energy, I propose that the same holds true for KNOWLEDGE.

I postulate that:

“KNOWLEDGE CAN NIETHER BE CREATED NOR DESTROYED”

EXPLANATION: The knowledge in this universe is a universal subset; a finite infinite. We as human beings can neither create nor destroy knowledge. What we are doing through logic, science, and philosophy is just a systematic unravelling of the truth, truth that already existed and will continue to exist regardless of whether science discovers them or not. Therefore, we human beings cannot lay claim to the creation of new knowledge. All we are doing is tapping into this mighty endless ocean of knowledge which the Brahma-Sutra calls as the Nirguna-Brahman or the Paramaatma or as the Gita calls, Shri Krishna Bhagwaan. The above also holds true even for the realm of the fine arts. This leads to a sub-postulate.

“GENIUS IS THE RAPID GOD-GIVEN ABILITY TO GLIMPSE AND COMPREHEND PREVIOUSLY UNRAVELLED AREAS OF THE UNIVERSAL KNOWLEDGE SUPERSET.”

(Inventions, amazing scientific discoveries, breaking into new dimensions in the fine arts fall in this category.)

THE LAW OF MAAYA

“THE NIGHT SKY IS THE CONCRETE EVIDENCE OF THE EXISTENCE OF THE VEIL OF MAAYA SYNTHESIZED BY THE COMBINATION OF DISTANCE, TIME, AND LIGHT.”

(This gives full credence to the evidence of MAAYA, ie., what we see is not what it is actually and also there is presently no scientific means of seeing the actual nature of things millions and trillions of light-years away. What one sees even with the most powerful of telescopes is nothing but a projection of a past world; the farther the images the more into the past they are. The past is effectively dead and so what we see as an external reality is mere illusion. This corroborates what the GITA and other Eastern philosophies have been saying all along: The physical universe is covered by MAAYA and one needs to be in unison with the eternal truth (attain self-realization) to see the reality. And for that self realization to happen, one needs to effectively disconnect with the external illusory world and look inwards.)

When we look into the external world, we see events.. and the vision registers

in our brain, which our brain processes into information and stores it in its

neurons. The time that this happens is a function of the velocity of light and

the intervening space between the event happening and us... The farther the

event is away from us physically, the more time light takes to reach us and

hence the TIME GAP which I define as the time taken to process and register this information

into our awareness increases with distance.

The velocity of light is enormous 300000000 meters/sec and in our day to

day lives, the events we observe, the TIME GAP is infinitesimally small and almost negligable and

hence feels instantaneous... The events happening and the facts registering

in our brains is almost simultaneous..

But what happens when the distances increase... For example, the light from our

own SUN takes 8 minutes plus approxinmately to reach Earth and hence the time gap here is

significant...the SUN we see is roughly 8 minutes old.. And further the distances

of the planetary and stellar bodies, the older they are.... The far away

remote galaxies, billions of light years away, are billions of years old

correspondingly. The TIME GAPs here are enormous... Who knows

what those galaxies look now...Have they changed positions..or that

do they even exist??? I have termed this the LAW OF MAAYA.

Regardless, the TIME GAP EXISTS AND IS SCIENTIFICALLY UNAVOIDABLE...

for all events external to us in the physical world regardless of how much

ever infinitesimally small they are...

THE EVENTS OF THE EXTERNAL WORLD THAT WE PERCEIVE IN OUR DAY TO DAY LIVES

HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED.. THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE PAST.

THEY HAVE ALREADY CHANGED OR MOVED BY THE TIME WE COMPREHEND THEM

IN OUR BRAINS HOW MUCH EVER IMPERCEPTIBLE

THOSE CHANGES ARE..IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONNECT WITH THE NOWS OF

OTHERS...WE CAN'T OVERRIDE TIME GAPS & WE DO NOT HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY.

SO THE TRUE NOW IS ONLY WITHIN U AND THE NOW FOR OTHERS ARE

ONLY WITHIN THEMSELVES.

BRAIN LEVELS (A possible explanation for the problems we Brahmins are facing today)

Amazingly this discussions on our Vedic priests has led me to an interesting pattern of thought.

I was pondering about this and now my take is that we can put this down to the eternal

right-left brain conflict or as our ancestors so lucidly put it for the layman on the streets

to understand, the Laxmi (left) and Saraswathi (right) conflict. This also gives strong

pointers towards the understanding of the caste structure, IMHO.

THE LEFT BRAIN (LB): THE REALM OF MAHA LAXMI

Laxmi is the lordess of the left brain... the hemisphere for skills, tact, logic for survival,

politics, to outwit, to outlast as all these skills only leads one to more resources in

the physical world, to get ahead, to amass wealth and resources.

There is a gradation here in the thought processes of the L-Brain (LB), IMHO, and this

directly translates into what our ancients classified as the caste system..

The first and lowest LB level is the just the level of survival where a person uses his brain just to

survive doing straight hard physical labour... the realm of the Shudras..

The second LB level is the level of harmless deceit and cunning where the person

uses these skills to amass more wealth and greed also maybe a factor here..

And this is the realm of the Viashyas.. the traders, the businessmen...

(OF course, our shastras say that the true Vaishya does BUSINESS FOR THE SAKE

OF BUSINESS WITH NO ELEMENT OF AVARICE & GREED, but rarely we find

such Vaishyas in the world of today and moreover they routinely use the negative

traits of this LB level).

The 3rd LB level is the level of politics, the level of statecraft, of war, of outwitting

and out-politicing one's opponents, of diplomacy, of threats and voilence with the

aim of not only increasing one' dominion but also protecting one's own.. This LB

level is at a higher level of that used by the Vaishyas because it also involves the

elements of honour, courage, sacrifice, and protection of the weak and also

the highest duty, which is the protection of Dharma... And this is the realm of

the rulers, the Kshatriyas... (Our shastras say that it is OK for a true Kshatriya

to engage in the negative aspects of statecraft if that only ensures the survival

of Dharma and truth and the protection of the weak.. Alas today's rulers are out

to do only the opposite).

The highest LB level, the 4th level is the realm of high thoughts, of mathematical

and scientific logic, of the fine arts, where the brain is unencumbered by the

burdens of all the first 3 levels. And here one finds thinkers, philosophers,

musicians, sculptors, scientists etc etc.. And this is the level of the Brahmin..

(Of course history has examples of Brahmins like Chanakya who functioned

and excelled at the 3rd LB level but this did not make him a great Brahmin, IMHO.

Again the Brahmins of today, sadly are not at this level of thinking, as many

of their LB resources are functioning at the second and third level and for

some it goes even to the first elementary level...)

THE RIGHT BRAIN (RB) : THE REALM OF SARASWATHI

Saraswathi is the lordess of the right brain.... the hemisphere for brilliant divine intuition,

the thinking outside the box, the spiritual experience, higher principles, new branches of

logic, new ideas, new ways of thinking and logic which the left brain can put to use

for gathering more resources.

And there are no levels here. The RB is just at one level, the highest...in connection

with the supreme universal truth and this is the realm of the pure genius...the

Shankaras, the Einsteins, the Tansens, the Aristotles, the Newtons, the Aryabhattas,

the Paninis, the Madhvacharyas, the Tagores, the Kalidasas, the Ramanujams...

(The super mathematician Ramanujam was a prime example of inspired divine

intuition put to use in the solving of highly complex mathematical problems)

Alas one cannot survive in the real world on just RB thinking. Yes one can apply RB thinking to

LB logic to ensure better application of a fundamental principle but that usually

takes time and also the LB dominated world is most of times not ready

for radical RB thinking and dismisses it as lunacy or far fetched ideas.

THE PROBLEM OF PRESENT DAY BRAHMINS: (IS A PLAIN LB-RB CONFLICT):

Our ancestors performed at the highest level of LB thinking and there were

a few geniuses among them routinely using RB thinking to top their LB thinking

and took themselves to even higher planes of thought. And our ancestors took care that

Laxmi never entered the RB. But they did not stop here. They also gave

Saraswathi a free rein into the LB and made sure that Laxmi was in deference

to her even in the LB, unlike the other castes that never let Saraswathi into

their LB (due to their circumstances) and very very very rarely tapped into their RB.. they even went

to the extent of giving Laxmi the key to the RB and made sure that she dominated

Saraswathi in both hemispheres. (There were a few

exceptions here and that is why now and then history has instances of

even Shudra-geniuses). Moreover, those of our ancestors that were not RB geniuses

took care that Laxmi did not encroach Saraswathi's RB domain. In short

they treated the RB with deep reverence that is shockingly lacking in today's Brahmins.)

And this is precisely the problem of the Brahmins of today.. We have given

Laxmi a free rein into our RB and literally pushed Saraswathi out,

THERE IS NO MORE LEARNING FOR THE SAKE OF LEARNING..

WE ARE LEARNING ONLY TO GET BETTER JOBS AND MAKE

MORE MONEY...THE ANTITHESIS OF BRAHMINISM.

In this ruthless age and times of commerce, thanks to the globalization by those

ravenous MNCs, we have a world where everyone has to function at

the second level LB thinking, the level of the Vaishyas to get ahead

in life. And those that manage to successfully combine the elements of thuggery and brutality

which are the negative aspects of the third LB level of thinking, the level

of the Kshatriyas, wrest total dominion and political/monetary power over the others and

becomes the industrial and power magnates and the ministers of today..

And those that do not have even the second LB skills are left to

languish on the first LB Shudra level on pittance and scraps as is happening

in many poor parts of the world.

And here we Brahmins have to thank our intellectual ability ( thanks to the genetic

inheritence from our ancestors) and education which make us at least go no lower

than the second LB level. But alas those poor Brahmins that do not have

the education and skills, now increasingly fall on the first LB level for their

survival as is happening in many parts of India.

IS THERE A SOLUTION:

How can there be one as the very question of survival is involved here.

We cannot tell many of our Brahmin brethren to stop chasing money

when we do not even fork out even a cent for their survival..

What needs to be done now: All the wealthy Brahmins that have turned

their backs on their Varna-Dharma and functioning at the 3rd and 2nd

LB level need to pool their resources and support at least those deserving

geniuses functioning at a mixture of 4th LB level and RB thinking...

Treat them like how the British are doting on their royalty and ensure the

survival of pure Vedic thought for posterity..Those of us Loukika Brahmins devoting

our energies in the pursuit of material wealth at least owe that much to our Varna-Dharma.

GAYATRI JAPAM: THE KEY TO RIGHT BRAIN ACTIVATION

Continuing on the earlier thread, one would then ask how to tap into the

intuition of Saraswathi, the RB thinking. And for this our ancestors

have already paved the way... Gayatri Japam COUPLED WITH SANDHYAVATHANAM.

Ps note that mere chanting of the Gayatri Mantram with the help of the commercial cassettes and CDs and VCDs and DVDs without the rituals of Sandhyavadhananam as is happening in today's world in the name of fashion is not the way. It is the routine performance of the Sandhyavatanam ritual, coupled with the Arkhyam, Tarpanam (water offering with prayer) to the SUN, that holds the key for this RB intuition.... and Sandhyavadhanam is the realm of the daily duties of the Brahmnin.

WHY SANDHYAVADHANAM:

In this light it makes sense that we

need the blessings of the SUN to open portals to Saraswathi.

THE PRIESTS OF OLDEN DAYS WERE SPIRITUAL:

Gayatri Japam is an imperative aspect of priesthood. A priest in the olden days would set

aside a considerable part of his day in doing the Sandhyavadhanam (3 times) along with

at least 1008 Gayatri each day to counter the effects of Karma of his various clients, which

would otherwise affect him very negatively. Other than this, the Sandhyavadhanam (Gayatri)

also helped him to have direct communion with Saraswathi and made him very intuitive about

the future. This was also true of the great astrologers of the past, who routinely chanted

massive amounts of Gayatri as part of their Sandhya to dissolve the karma of their clients

from affecting them and no amount of Gayatri chanting seemed to be enough. The more

darker level karma cleansing the priests performed for a client, say a cleansing homa for a client who's

committed a high level sin like murder etc etc..the more Gayatri the priest needed to chant

because by performing the Homa, the priest in effect absorbs the karma of the client by

virtue of accepting the Dakshina (fee). And the same goes for astrologers saving their

clients from potentially diabolical disasters. They have to negate the fury of the planets

who were now prevented discharging their fates on the client because of the astrological

advice and now have to contend the karma of their clients which they have now

inherited. The graver the fate, the more karmic offload and more Gayatri needs to

be chanted through Sandhyavadanam to digest the karma.

SARASWATHI WAS A SAVIOUR FOR THE ANCIENT BRAHMINS:

In order to negotiate the minefields of karma in their journey through priesthood for

the masses, Saraswathi through the portals of Sandhyavadhanam-Gayatri, was

a guide, a voice that they heard many a time warning them of potential disasters,

future portends. This was a protective shield which kept the priests from the

vices of greed and avarice and other potential pitfalls.

MODERN PRIESTS NEED TO RE-ESTABLISH SUPREMACY OF SARASWATHI

Bereft of the intuitive protection of Sarawathi, the modern day priests are

treading a very dangerous path in their constant pursuit of Laxmi and many

times it is not out of greed but just plain survival... Their Sandhyavadhanam

has gone out of the window as they are on the go most of the time. Forget

about 3 times, they are not even able to do the Sandhya even once a day

and sometimes for days together. And many of them fail to realize that this

Sandhyavadhanam and communion with Saraswathi is their only salvation.

Also, in the pursuit of wealth, modern priests get enamoured by high ticket

clients like high powered politicians, industrialists, movie stars and in some

cases even notorious cashed up mafia dons. Little do they realize that

the karma offloaded and absorbed from these big tickets is also high. A

powerful minister just with a small verbal statement can make or mar the

fortunes of an entire nation and the karma from such a gaffe would be enormous.

So what about the poor priest performing parihara-homams for such big tickets..

How much Gayatri needs to be chanted for self cleansing and digesting the

karma of the client...In the similar vein, a small ticket may most of the time

have only small karma offloads unless he has committed a major sin.

IS THERE A WAY OUT:

RB thinking or Sarawathi or whatever one may term may or may not lead

to material success which is imperative in today's world. And most of

times Saraswathi's boons are almost always only spiritual and beyond

this material world. The choices before a Brahmin of today is between

a rock and a hard place when looked at from the angle of this material

world, but then Saraswathi does not make any compromise.

SPIRITUAL SALVATION IS THE ONLY PATH OF THE TRUE BRAHMIN AND NOT

MATERIAL SUCCESS. IF WE ARE NOT READY TO DO THAT ALL THE

BRAHMINS OF TODAY FOLLOWING LAXMI SHOULD DECLARE THEMSELVES

AS VAISHYAS..PERIOD!!!!

As my erudite friend Krishnan Srinivasan once remarked during routine

conversation: "The only way is to turn our back on Western material

civilization and forge our own path"

I second that and say "Do we have the guts to do that...For that

we need MEN OF MEN in our Brahmin community and bold

pioneers willing to take the stand and the subsequent sacrifices

that would come as a consequence of rejecting the material world.,

such men who our community sorely misses......

We need such men to STEP UP AND SHOW THE WAY..

CONSCIOUSNESS & THE NOW ( A possible scientific explanation)

It is often said by great philosophers and also my good friend Chandra Bhat that

the essence of life is in the NOW, the present and as Mr. Bhat often tells me..

'SUMMANE IRU (JUST BE IN HIS NATIVE KANNADA)"....(not in the past or future but in the present, in the NOW which

is also the philosophy of Zen)

WHAT IS NOW: (THE CONCEPT OF TIME_GAPS)

I was thinking of a possible explanation of the NOW in the physical world...

and I look at it this way..

When we look into the external world, we see events.. and the vision registers

in our brain, which our brain processes into information and stores it in its

neurons. The time that this happens is a function of the velocity of light and

the intervening space between the event happening and us... The farther the

event is away from us physically, the more time light takes to reach us and

hence the TIME GAP which I define as the time taken to process and register this information

into our awareness increases with distance.

The velocity of light is enormous 300000000 meters/sec and in our day to

day lives, the events we observe, the TIME GAP is infinitesimally small and

hence feels almost instantaneous... The events happening and the facts registering

in our brains is almost simultaneous..

But what happens when the distances increase... For example, the light from our

own SUN takes 4 minutes??? (ps correct me) to reach Earth and hence the time gap here is

significant...the SUN we see is 4 minutes old.. And further the distances

of the planetary and stellar bodies, the older they are.... The far away

remote galaxies, billions of light years away, are billions of years old

correspondingly. The TIME GAPs here are enormous... Who knows

what those galaxies look now...Have they changed positions..or that

do they even exist??? I have termed it the LAW OF MAAYA as

Regardless, the TIME GAP EXISTS AND IS SCIENTIFICALLY UNAVOIDABLE...

for all events external to us in the physical world regardless of how much

ever infinitesimally small they are...

THE EVENTS OF THE EXTERNAL WORLD THAT WE PERCEIVE IN OUR DAY TO DAY LIVES

HAVE ALREADY HAPPENED.. THEY ARE ALREADY IN THE PAST.

THEY HAVE ALREADY CHANGED OR MOVED BY THE TIME WE COMPREHEND THEM

IN OUR BRAINS HOW MUCH EVER IMPERCEPTIBLE

THOSE CHANGES ARE..IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO CONNECT WITH THE NOWS OF

OTHERS...WE CAN'T OVERRIDE TIME GAPS & WE DO NOT HAVE THE TECHNOLOGY.

SO THE TRUE NOW IS ONLY WITHIN U AND THE NOW FOR OTHERS ARE

ONLY WITHIN THEMSELVES.

Our Vedas say that it is only the NOW that matters and for that one needs

to look inwards and away from the external world smoke-screened with these TIME-GAPS.

Further our Vedas say that it is the NOW that holds the key to the

Supreme reality. The final objective is to be one with the SUPER-NOW the

NOW of entire creation.. to be all knowing/aware/and all pervading.. Is that

possible scientifically.. one wonders???

In our mundane world, it is impossible to physically merge two bodies to

dissolve the time gap. It is often speculated that cataclysmic sexual orgasm between

two individuals leads to the joint NOW for both individuals, where the TIME GAP

dissolves. Alas, orgasm is fleeting...Telepathy also falls in this category where

two like minded souls feel the same thing at the same time....like that claimed by twins.

So one asks?? are there other ways of joining the NOWs of different physical bodies??

Religion says Universal love and brotherhood can achieve that....through Kirtan,

through devotion, hymns, chanting, meditation.....And the final objective according

to the Upanishads... is becoming that SUPER-NOW where time and space

are non-factors..

THE BUDDHIST ANGLE

Traditional Buddhist philosophy as espoused by the Buddha and its off shoot zen

as I had mentioned earlier talk of this same internal NOW. Buddhism, of course

rejects the external world as an illusion as it is not the NOW (which is

scientifically now backed by the above reasoning), but it also goes one step

further.. Of course, its solution is to look inwards at the NOW, but it also

negates that NOW and goes on to nihilism, where even the individual NOW ceases

to exist...

And this is where our Upanishads and the Vedas step in and tells us....that

how can something that does not exist can say whether or not there is an

external reality. The external reality exists, except that we are not connected

to the reality because of these ubiquitous TIME GAPS..It is only a matter of

dissolving these obstacles and merging with the Supreme NOW...

And this by the way is Shankara's MONISM...ADVAITA.. becoming the

SUPREME NOW...

So what is DWAITA: Connecting to that SUPER-NOW to becoming SUPER

CONSCIOUS by the grace of the Supreme.. but, IMHO, these all point

to the same reality..

WE HAVE TO CONNECT TO THE SUPER NOW....AND FOR THAT WE HAVE

TO LOOK INWARDS. THAT IS THE TRUE REALITY. THE TIME GAPS

ARE REASON ENOUGH..

MONISM & DUALISM ( A simpler practical explanation)

Continuing from my earlier email of time gaps... here's a possible explanation

of MONISM (ADVAITA) and DUALISM (DVAITA)...

First of all: Why do we have to look inwards for salvation:

As explained in my previous email, TIME_GAPS do not exist in our internal world

and so also for the SUPREME.. The concept of time and space do not exist in

our own NOW and also for the SUPER NOW.

With all our physical limitations in our present world, we have no recourse but to

look inwards to feel the irrelevance of space and time. Our ancients

reaffirm that is the key to the SUPREME.

SO what is MONISM in this light..

IMHO, MONISM says is that our own NOW is that SUPER-NOW, the NOW of entire creation...

both manifested and un-manifested.

(Is that possible? in our physical world??)

DUALISM in this light, says that your NOW is just a minuscule atomic fraction of that

SUPER_NOW and this looks more plausible from our plane of existence as we cannot

even feel the NOW of even our dearest friends standing next to us. But who

are we to speculate.. Maybe knowing our own NOW is just a key to that ultimate

SUPER_NOW. First step is your own NOW, then the summation of NOWs of your

immediate kith and kin, then community, then nation, then Earth, and finally

this entire creation..

The SUPER_NOW is that feeling as felt by each every individual aspect and component

of creation at the same time,.. being/knowing/feeling everything everywhere

IN ONE INSTANT..IN THE PRESENT...IN THE NOW..

Just think of these abstract concepts in this manner...MONISM and DUALISM becomes easy to understand..

As an exercise, try and see whether u can combine ur NOW with the individual standing next to u..

ur wife, ur friend... It is physically impossible.. but the Vedas vouch that it is spiritually possible.

WHY IS KRISHNA CONSIDERED THE SUPREME

In the pantheon of the Hindu Gods, Krishna is considered the Supreme. Why it is often asked.

Why not the other Gods, are they not supreme themselves as their own tales and mythology imply.

Why couldn't the infinite be Shiva, or Ganesha, or Devi, or any of the vast number of Gods in the Hindu pantheon?? It is often debated in the Hindu Pantheon as to why Krishna is the Supreme Lord of the

Multi-verse and why the other Hindu Gods cannot take up the same mantle.

There is a practical explanation for this. If we can picture 3 Dimensional space, we

can see that the three axis, X Y & Z defining the spatial coordinates stretch to

infinity in each of their dimensions. The three dimensions are infinite in 3D space and

this can be extrapolated to the infinities of all dimensions in multi-dimensional hyperspace.

The different Gods are no doubt infinite in their properties but the number of dimensions in

which they are infinite are finite. So the power of the different Gods increase with their

respective abilities to be infinite in as many dimensions as possible. If a particular God is

infinite in one dimension (one parameter, one property,) then a higher God is infinite in

more parameters or properties or dimension. Reasoning in this manner, while maintaining

congruence with the Gita and the Shastras, Krishna (the supreme) is the only one

infinite in all the infinite dimensions (all parameters and properties of multi-dimensional hyperspace.)

Among the individual Gods themselves, they have different sub-manifestations. One has to

only go through the various Sahasra-naamaas of the various individual Gods. Each of their

sub-manifestations have a particular Guna (property) to infinite levels. And other sub-manifestations

have other properties at infinite levels. And the main God, is the summation of all these gunas/properties,

dimensions, parameters, whatever one terms it as. In Ganesha-Sahasranaamam (1008 names/forms

of Ganesha) we have different modes of Ganesha. As an example, one can cite Veera-Ganapathi,

a war-like ferocious and courageous form of Ganapathi who has got these properties to an infinite

level. And there are others like Bala-Ganapathi, Shakti-Ganapathi, Pancha-Mukha Ganapathi and

their unique gunas stretch to infinite levels. The main representation, Ganapathi has the properties

of all these sub-manifestations to an infinite level. (That is why one prays to a certain form to get

a particular result.). The Shri-Chakra of Devi has the various forms of Devi residing in the Chakra

whose powers increase as one traverses from the circumference to the centre of the chakra. And

the main God Devi is the summation of all these sub-manifestations.

Our own physical universe is a four dimensional one, 3 dimensions of space and the fourth of time.

Our Shastras say that our Brahma is Chatur-Mukha Brahma (4-headed) and this falls in line with

the number of dimensions of our universe. Similarly, the shastras also say that there are lower worlds

with 1, 2, 3 headed Brahmas and higher dimensional worlds that go up to 1000-headed Brahmas and

it just gets mind boggling. Also, recent developments in Warp Physics imply that our world is a 4D pocket in hyper-dimensional space. So we can see here that even the great Brahma has various sub manifestations

which differ in their nature, quality, and power.

And the Shastras say that only Krishna the Supreme Lord is summation of all the Gods and their

various manifestations and sub-manifestations. He is the summation of all the 1008 sub-manifestations

of Narayana named in the Vishnu-Sahasranaana. He is infinite in infinite number of dimensions,

gunas, parameters, qualities and the list goes on and on and yet these qualities do not exhaust him.

He is the master of all that ever exists in the manifested and unmanifested multi-verse and he alone holds

the key to the ultimate truth.

A MATHEMATICAL QUESTION

Here's a question for all of u?

Finite X Infinite = Infinite---------(D)

Infinite X Infinite = Infinite--------(K)

Which is greater: Equation D or Equation K.

Both are infinity and mathematically infinity is infinity... so what's the difference.

METHOD IN THE MADNESS:

What I'm getting at is this: If the GODs other than Krishna have a finite number of dimensions or

qualities or gunas or parameters, but each of these gunas are at an infinite level then they

fit equation D = Devas.

Finite set of dimensions X Infinite levels of each of these parameters = Infinity

(Note that the these Gods are still infinite compared to us mortals who are finite in all respects,

esp in this physical world of ours and hence they are still mindbogglingly superior to us

and worthy of our devotion and prayers and lead us to higher goals. Also when we pray to a particular GOD, we

are praying to those finite set of parameters as embodied by that GOD, without forgetting

the fact that these parameters defining these GODs are infinite.)

According to the Shastras as espoused by the Shrimad Bhagawatam and Gita, Krishna over

and above having these parameters at infinite levels, has infinite number of even these fundamental parameters.

defining him and yet one can't describe him fully ..(Inexhaustible). In this light Krishna

fits equation K = Krishna

Infinite set of dimensions X Infinite levels of each of these parameters = Super-infinity???

The question here is can we call equation K as Super-infinity...or is this infinity greater

than the infinity of equation D??? Is the difference here is qualitative??? Something

to definitely think about. Isn't it absurd to compare infinity with infinity??? It is

certainly going beyond mere logic of us finite creatures.

Regardless, our shastras and even the greatest of philosophers concur that this super-infinity

is beyond even abstract logical comprehension. Even all the infinite dimensions and parameters

of the multi-verse does not describe him fully. I even go a step further to say that He goes

even beyond human concepts of Dwaita, Adwaita, Nirvana, Nihilism, Suspended animation

which are nothing but products of finite human logic. Even those concepts fail to describe

him in the fullest and does not exhaust his characteristics. He is IT..

As the Sandhyavathana mantra aptly says:

Sarva Deva Namaskaram, Shree Keshavam Prati-Gacchati..

(All prayers, finallly only reach Krishna)

ANOTHER MATHEMATICAL QUESTION (More simpler)

Just for those of u mathematically oriented..

Is the infinity of a two dimensional place (plane) qualitatively less than that of

normal 3 D space..

Is the infinity of normal 3D space qualitatively less than the infinity of

hyper space (4D and beyond???)

Ps think as this may hold the key to many spiritual problems??

THE POLLUTION INDEX (RE: Green-house levies on aircrafts)

It's high time that Governments around the world and their respective aviation authorities start enforcing

heavy Green-house levies on corporate jets that criscross international skies these days on

a regular basis.

THE CONCEPT OF PERCAPITA CARBON FOOTPRINT (PCCF)

The PCCF can be defined as the amount of CO2 in tons for the total journey divided by the weight in tons of the aircraft minus the passengers and their effects. A higher PCCF indicates higher pollution. Alternatively the PCCF can also be renamed in a more simpler jargon by which even the common man on the

street would have an understanding; The PCCF can then also be renamed as the POLLUTION INDEX.

Often these huge corporate jets involve a very few amount of people, whereas the fuel that they expend and consequently the green-house gasses that they emit would often be the same as that of a typical jetliner ferrying hundreds of passengers on a normal international flight. A threshold of PCCF should be determined, beyond which the corresponding green-house levies should

increase on a sliding scale in possibly geometric proportions.

This, IMHO, would make many of these people think twice before they indulge in the luxuryof corporate jet flights with a view of making a power statement. And many of these super-rich do have the necessary funds to afford these levies. And making these levies prohibitively expensive would serve to make this as an effective pollution deterrent. This would also make them resort to the mode of public transportation when flying as most normal people do.

The same concept could then be extrapolated to even cars and luxury boats and yachts with a view to popularize public transport.

IN THE NAME OF GLOBALIZATION

It was the early nineties. An economically plodding slumbering giant was awakened by the stroke of a pen in the name of liberalization and the genie called globalization was extricated out of its bottle. While the founding fathers and guardians of this genie had all the good intentions in their heart, they reckoned that this genie could be tamed and made to behave according to their will and intentions by their astute economic brains, honed in some of the elitist institutions of the west. And the genie did seem to do so in the initial stages. There was tremendous inflow of wealth and capital from all over the globe and suddenly a nation was shaking itself out of its perennial beggar tag to becoming an economic superpower. It was happening fast and most importantly it was happening now, happening for a land that had once been the jewel of the planet during times immemorial and a land that had fallen into bad times due to two hundred years of colonial history. The land was now reclaiming its lost glory. And for the founding fathers of the genie, it was all pats and glory. And what a fine job they had done indeed.

And thus began the transformation of a land known for its philosophical sense of contentment into a super mass of consumers. Yes, if America, a paragon for the developed world, touted consumerism, it was now time for the rest of the world to follow and this ancient land had decided to be one of the early pioneers in this regard. The giant neighbour to their north had already started on this path and was reaping enormous economic rewards. And suddenly it was call centres, outsourcing hubs and others of their like that ruled the roost. The genie was an epitome of giving and prosperity and it was moolah raining all over. Overnight millionaires and billionaires sprouted like fresh grass at the sprinkle of new rains and the genie frenetically regurgitated even more moolah. Salaries and lifestyles shot up overnight and now, it seemed, nothing could go wrong. The rest of the populace was also falling in love with the genie. And, as its guardians astutely reasoned, the general populace were also convinced that it would take them to that elusive holy grail of development: The next USA.

But what the founding fathers of the globalization genie did not reckon was the enormous ecological appetite of the genie. The genie, they found to their chagrin, had a gargantuan hunger for infrastructure and coveted its eyes on prime land, water, and other eco-resources. And the genie had also determined that there was nothing more precious in this setting than its own vomit: moolah. It purred with pleasure that everything could now be assigned a numerical value. And suddenly it had also determined that it had a life of its own and broke free of its hapless guardians.

Now, yet another farmer had turned into a Raatho-raath-karore-pathi in the outskirts of another booming metro, thanks to the genie. Overnight, the big construction sharks and other die hard champions of the genie made another poor soul struggling on the brink of subsistence into a mega-millionaire. It was heartening news indeed. Everyone in this world has a right to wealth and happiness, especially the poor and the downtrodden. This was the globalization genie at its best, generating and spreading wealth all across the globe and evenly to all sections of society as its founding fathers so idealistically envisioned.

But in all this din of money raining down, nobody noticed that acres of prime agricultural land that for centuries gave fresh produce and fodder were now going to be turned into bricks and mortar. Acres that over generations gave ecologically were now going to make a huge ecological demand in terms of energy, water, and other resources. Priceless ecological resources had now been assigned a mere paper currency value overnight. And ironically the taker was now valued higher than the giver. Overnight, the humble farmer/ecological giver had telescoped his ecological footprint and now transformed into a cell-phone toting ever demanding consumer

And this is precisely what was happening in the planet, especially in the developing world. In the hopes of fast tracking an American dream for its denizens, ecological fundamentals were conveniently being jettisoned by their respective administrators. And this became the increasing realization of many top eco-scientists and even the genie's founding fathers themselves. Yet, they now found themselves hapless and powerless in front of the genie.

The genie, in turn, was growing more and more powerful by the day and its founders to their profound resignation found that its appetites were no longer confined to Mother Nature. It had now started to feed on local native cultures that had sustained generations of humanity all over the globe, digesting and excreting these timeless cultural values as a featureless consumer blob. Local languages, traditions, and centuries long established customs were now being cast by the wayside in this relentless onslaught of the genie. And ironically, this genie was also bringing about a kind of an elusive religious unity. Now the various Gods were being replaced by the one and only God – the genie's vomit, the all important moolah.

And all this, it seemed, had come at the worst possible time for the genie's founding fathers. It had come in an era of diminishing supply of food grains, water, and fuel; things that the genie now is demanding in never-ending quantities and things the genie's founding fathers assumed would be always available in infinite quantities. Alas, the founding fathers of the globalization genie, were to their profound horror, also realizing that their recaltricant offspring is facilitating the thriving and growth of a bigger genie called climate change, a genie which threatens to swallow the globalization genie itself. And this new genie is already on its way to becoming an unbeatable monster.

The pact with the devil was made in the early nineties with the promise of never-ending riches to be showered on a struggling land and a smiling genie was released. But as is routine with the devil, the pact has now come with a heavy price. And now the genie's founding fathers are scratching their heads to come up with a way to put it back into its bottle with a view to containing his big monster brother: Climate Change. But as the saying goes: the horse has bolted from the stable and the genie is never going back home. Why??
