A well known and popular singer of Indian songs in the Sydney area. Performs at concerts, Bollywood musical shows, parties, and other Hindu devotional events. Sivaram Hariharan was tutelaged in Carnatic (Classical South Indian) music by his mother, Smt. Meena Hariharan, an accomplished singer and a veena player. He was also considerably influenced by his older sister, Smt Usha Shankar, who is an accomplished Carnatic All India Radio Musician, and performs in concerts all over India. Later, he was tutelaged in classical Veena under the guidance of the late Smt. Vijaya Vishwanathan, who was a top All India Radio Veena Vaadak (Performer) and also an accomplished vocal artiste and teacher and music professor.
Also an accomplished recitor and teacher of complex Ghanam hyms from the Yajurveda. His wife, Priya Iyer, is also an accomplished Carnatic (South Indian Classical Music) singer and music teacher and accompanies him on many of his music concerts.
MUSICAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Singer at the Annual INDIA-AUSTRALIA FAIR at Sydney Olympic Stadium 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006 & 2007. Other performances include CHANKATA 2005, 2006, 2007 (Annual Sydney Sikh meet). Performed for noted DJs ( www.nishana.com.au & www.indianmandap.com.au ) at various meets and functions as guest singer and entertainer. Also performed in INDIA at PARSNS Coimbatore in 2003, 2004, and 2006 to a highly receptive and appreciative audience.
