College Scholarship

Every spring, the Southwestern Wisconsin  Chapter of the Izaak Walton League of America accepts applications for our college Scholarship program.  All local area residents that will be studying environmental science and related conservation programs at the college or technical school level in the Fall/Winter of 2026/2027 are eligible for a scholarship, up to $500.00. 

applicant’s pursuit of a conservation or environment-related degree, including (but not limited to):

                  —  environmental science       —  agricultural science/ag. business        —  natural resource management

—  forestry, wildlife, fisheries, parks and recreation, range management programs

                   —  ecology   —  biology (conservation/field/marine)  —  zoology    —  geology    —  hydrology

Applications for interested students consist of a resume, three letters of reference and completed scholarship application  submitted by  Monday April 7, 2025.  Provide an address, phone number, and the school and program which the student is planning to enroll .  People familiar with the activities and character of the student should provide these references.  Supplemental information, in the form of a cover letter, indicating activities and interests in environmental issues will also be accepted with the resumes.

The Izaak Walton League is dedicated toward maintaining the highest standards of environmental conservation.  One aspect of those standards is the promotion of careers in the environmental sciences.  Therefore, applicants will not only be evaluated on the basis of need but also on their character, leadership and educational desire and initiative in the areas of environmental science studies.
