Gameplay Tips

Star Wars Interworlds mod is a total conversion, this means that we touch almost every part of the game, so you can expect that balance and some mechanics to be different from vanilla.

It is considered that player is familiar with the basic mechanics of the game as they still apply though. If you are new player to X4 - PLEASE FINISH VANILLA GAME TUTORIALS FIRST!!!

GENERAL RECOMMENDATIONS

  1. In graphics settings set your color correction to "Desaturated" for more SW-like look.

  2. Use "full stop" hotkey to quickly drop from travel/hyperspace mode.

COMBAT
RULES TO REMEMBER WHEN FIGHTING in SWI

  1. Forget about vanilla-game combat balance, you will need to learn/adopt to SWI balance with open mind.

  2. You are not Luke or Anakin, you will die in fragile fighter along other fighters to massed fire and larger ships.

  3. Power difference between ships sizes is big, much so than in vanilla.

  4. Single fighter will not be able to take down M ships easily. Large corvettes need to be taken on by a group of fighters (better with bombers)

  5. Bombers are much more effective vs capital ships, torpedoes HIT THROUGH SHIELD!

  6. Ships are more specialized in their role, dont expect interceptor A-wing to take down larger class of ships, especially SSD...

  7. Fighters are effective in groups, use Carriers.

  8. Combined forces are much more effective. Interceptors, Bombers, Picket ships all play their role in the fleet.

  9. Stations are deadly, try to bombard them with capital ships with long-range guns or use bombers.

  10. Use ion cannons to slow your targets down.

  11. Dont use Seismic charge with allies nearby...

BOUNTY HUNTING

  1. To get a bounty going - talk to bounty hunters station manager.

  2. All bounties are real, your assets can also be part of the list! (however the cooldown for them is a bit shorter on the list)

  3. There are other famous bounty hunters in the galaxy that pick missions from the same list as you do.
