Some large ship engines are not destructible
Not much of an issue as a design decision, large ships with covered medium-sized engines may not have destructible engines, consider this as one of their strengths (e.g. Praetorian, Nubulon-B, Pelta)
Ships appears with AAAAAA letters
Known bug, will be eventually fixed, its just time consuming to go through old assets with new modding tools to fix it
Some ship animations are weird
There WAS no way to create custom animations for X4 for long time so we reused vanilla animations, just replacing mesh, it will take quite a bit of time to redo proper animations taking into consideration amount of assets.
Paint does nothing to ships
Known issue and we are working on it, most ships will have the paint feature enabled eventually.
Some repair drones behave weirdly
Its not easy to track the real cause of this without dev tools. Sometimes repair drones will fly away from the ship or start bumping it preventing entering travel mode. Easiest fix for now is to go OOS (leave the sector or fly away from affected ship) and come back, drones should be fixed.
Do Vanilla plots work? HAT, Split, Paranid? How to get PHQ?
All vanilla plots were removed. To find HQ plot look in outer rim sectors, explore.
Xenons replaced/changed?
Xenons were removed as an active faction, you may sometimes see their ships though for different reasons.
Khaaks replaced/changed?
Replaced with other faction and changed a bit.
Stations changed?
Some are vanilla, some were changed, its a mixture.
NPCs changed?
NOT POSSIBLE FOR NOW. NPCs are vanilla, replacing them planned in future patches. However this will require official modding tools so depends on when those will be released by Egosoft.
Does MOD_NAME works with SW mod? Other mods?
Please refer to "X4 Mods and Compatibility" section. But generally speaking, there are hundreds of mods, so we cannot guarantee anything. Remember that SWI is a total conversion, so many mods may not work.

Generic missions work?
Yes, there can be few odd things sometimes, like when mission spawns vanilla ship for retrieval mission, those will be updated as we update the mod.
Are vanilla ships still there? Will you make them come back?
No, SWI is a total conversion, ships and weapons have totally different balancing and economy progression compared to vanilla and will never come back.
Is Executor SSD available?
Yep, and other XXL ships, through research.
I cant get out from the fighter cockpit (e.g. X-wing).
As you may have noticed, SW fighters are usually too small to support the vanilla-like cockpit behavior with separate teleporter and usually don't have a lot of space. In cases like this you should either try exiting through the left wall of cockpit (we remove collisions for it for cases like this) or jump (sometimes jump+crouch) or crouch while getting out. Its not perfect but it works and there is no way around it
I cant get from my fighter that is docked to the capital ship, its cockpit is closed!
For ships with external docking, where cockpit does not open (like ISDs), you need to use SHIFT+D shortcut to move between ships. This will work only if carrier ship is owned by you though
What turrets can be installed on stations?
Light DUAL laser cannons and light DUAL turbolasers (light-blue names RH2,3,8, XV7, XI5) and L special station batteries.
What shields can be installed on stations?
Large Light shields, starting with LLarge
How can I buy droid ships like Imperial probe and Vulture? Seems I cant add pilot.
First choose "minimal" or any other preset, this will add AI droid "pilot". then you can configure as you want.
Gozanti lands with fighters docked and they clip into the floor.
Docks for gozanti were added only due to a popular request, note that it should be used only with TIE fighters, bombers and interceptors, while other fighters can dock to it too docking ports are too close and fighters will overlap and look ugly. Also, Gozanti can still land with fighters attached to it, NPC ships will not undock from landed Gozantis but player is able to order to do so directly, if done In-Sector fighters will most probably be trapped in dock model (but should be able to dock back to gozanti if ordered). ITS UP TO THE PLAYER TO USE THIS FUNCTIONALITY CORRECTLY AND IN BEAUTIFUL MANNER
Why weapons have differently colored names
Name color tells about its class Light-blue are either anti-fighter or light turbolasers Yellow are medium turbolasers Red are heavy turbolasers Dark blue are ion weapons Some light weapons may share the name but have different projectile color, that will be shown in icon and description at some point.
How Gravity Well feature works on Immobilizer?
Gravity Well Arrays are "utility weapons" that can be controlled as any other turret on your ship. When activated (or firing at target, as it is treated as a turret by game logic) it will emit an invisible gravity impulse directed at its selected target, upon reaching the target (or 20 km along the flight path if impulse missed) it will create a gravity anomaly with 10 km radius (20km wide sphere) in that area preventing ships from activating their hyperdrives. Note that this is considered as hostile action, affecting all ships in the area, including your own and anyone caught in your ships gravity well can retaliate. USE WITH CAUTION
Ships in shipyard/wharf construction menu are very bright
That's just how the game displays modded ships and their textures, vanilla bug but doesn't impact gameplay, bear with it.
I don't cant find the signal to capture a ship, what to do?
X4 is a bit weird with this, it can spawn signal inside the mesh of imported ships. I suggest to always have few marines, in this case you can select abandoned ship and press "F-> Claim", marine will fly out in the pod to capture it.
