Camp Lasater was the official Boy Scout camp for the Winston-Salem Council, now Old Hickory Council. It was in operation from 1923 to 1954.
Camp Lasater was located in Walkertown, North Carolina on about 47 acres off Camp Betty Hastings Road on what is now named Walkertown Community Center Road.
The camp was named for R. Edward Lasater, who was a Reynolds Tobacco Company executive for more than 50 years and a former chairman of the Winston-Salem Council of the Boy Scouts. In 1923, Lasater gave the Council just under 100 acres of land, the former Oscar Hege farm, for the camp. When in operation, the camp included a small lake, dining hall, and about ten campsites.
Camp Lasater was the official Boy Scout camp until 1954 when Camp Raven Knob in Surry County opened. The land where Camp Lasater was located is now privately owned.
