Lívia is an assitant professor at the Federal University of São Carlos, São Carlos, Brasil. Her research are focused on taxonomy, evolution and ecology of the merolimnic insects (mostly Diptera) from Neotropics. Her current project is focusing on comparing extant and fossil communities of Chironomidae from the island of Hispaniola, using results' of our fieldwork in Dominican Republic in 2019 and Dominican amber fossils.
