I'm glad you already have a client.
However, the question I want to ask you is, how challenging your role is? How many skills you apply to help your clients business?
Virtual assistants are like business executives. Your main role is to support your client or the entrepreneur you are working with. The services that you can offer are endless and all depend on your background training, experience, and skills.
Keep in mind that you do not necessarily perform everything in the business, you are just there to help your client.
Before we go deeper, let me just differentiate other terms here.
Virtual Professionals or Freelancers - This is similar to Virtual Assistants because they are working as an assistant to clients on a long-term basis. But, they do have one special skill that they are really good at and they continue to develop that skill and offer it to many clients. They also work on a Flexible Schedule. They usually use a time tracking software to monitor their work and get monthly payments.
They usually work on a project or short-term basis. (E.g. Website Developer, App Developer, Graphic Designer, Video Editor) They are usually working on different projects together with many clients. They work on a flexible schedule. Many of the freelancers do not need time to track software. They just give a timeline on how long they can work on a project and submit the project on a specified time. They do not get monthly salary rather they just give the price of their work depending on the complexity of the project.
The best and easy way for you to get started working at home is to become a Virtual Assistant who works on a flexible schedule.
There are lots of work at home you can try.
But, being able to work at home on a flexible schedule is rare.
Often times, you work on a graveyard shift because clients are usually located on a different timezone. Especially, if you are working as an employee (e.g. Chat Support, Customer Service, Online Teacher etc). Normally, these kinds of jobs won't allow you to work with several clients. They want you to work only for their company.
If you are the kind of person who loves working on their own schedule then I recommend you to have one specialised skill that clients would pay for.
As for me, the skill I would like to master is Digital & Social Media Marketing. This is a huge skill that has many branches of skills attached to it. This is a challenging one but it can really help businesses generate more money.
In the future, I would love to create my own business too and knowing these skills will help me as well.
But for now, I need to learn first and earn money.
I believe that is the same plan you should do too. Think about what competitive skill you want to master. You can check the masterclasses so I can help you.
