About Us
Long before the building structures and the children appeared, there was a dream and a burden to help the less advantaged. Esther was originally born in Uganda but had been resident in the UK for a long time. Having faced hardship when she was growing up, she knew what it was like to struggle through life. She got in touch with a friend she had not seen for many years, who told her of children from a rural community in Ntwetwe, Uganda who had become orphaned at a very tender age. They had to walk many miles to fetch water and could not go t school as they had to fend for themselves.
This was the opportunity that saw the launch of SVM Outreach. Initially it was just a small house in the village with only a handful of children whose parents had passed away. A church was planted in the area and the children were provided with accommodation, food and basic necessities. Soon the numbers grew as more of the need was identified in the area. The source of funding was individual based and soon the need exceeded the help available. A local church community, Shepherd's Voice Ministries in UK partnered with us and had members assist the charity work through donation of clothes and raising a monetary contribution from time to time. Soon more structures were put in place and the work has continued to help many children to date and impact the community positively. Hence the name SVM Outreach which stands for Shepherd's Voice Ministry Outreach.
