WHEN: Saturday, May 27, and Sunday, May 28, 2017

WHERE: This year the tournament will again be held in the two full-sized courts at the University of Victoria CARSA High-Performance Gym. A total of 24 teams participated in last year’s tournament and we have room for up to 32 teams this year. Our second gym facility is the Spectrum Secondary School Old and New Gyms (957 Burnside Road West)

DIVISIONS: YOUTH – for school teams or club teams with players in grades 6-8

JUNIOR VARSITY – for high-school teams or club teams with players in grades 8-10

VARSITY – for high-school teams and club teams with players in grades 9-12

OPEN WOMEN – any team wishing to play at the higher level, including players who have completed high-school eligibility – includes an open elite pool with Canadian college, university and alumni players

- all these divisions will be organized with specific matchups and specific game times to allow teams to make their travel arrangements more easily and attempt to ensure each team gets to play competitive games

COST: $400 entry fee for all teams – all teams are guaranteed to play FOUR GAMES; if requested, we can accommodate some teams playing three games in one day for $300!

-make cheques payable to SOUTH VANCOUVER ISLAND BASKETBALL ASSOCIATION (only your cheque will guarantee your spot in the tournament)

OFFICIALS AND RULES: officials will be provided through the Victoria Basketball Officials Association – games will be two 16-minute stop-time halves; we will use 30-second shot clocks whenever possible

OTHER DETAILS: With the current gym facilities, we have room for up to 32 teams to play in this tournament. Entry in the tournament will be confirmed on a first-come / first-registered basis. This tournament has grown to become one of the most competitive club tournament offered in B. C. during the spring and the summer. We hope you will want to visit our city at a great time of the year for tourists and play some top-flight basketball while you are here.

A concession will be available in the main gym during the tournament and there will be an admission charge each day of $5 for adults and $2 for students with children under 10 years old admitted free.

The earlier teams arrive in Victoria ready to play, the easier it is to schedule teams to play their four games against a variety of opponents. The later your arrival time, the more difficult scheduling becomes.

Host hotels have been arranged with excellent rates for teams attending our tournaments. We expect all teams to stay at one of the listed host hotels.

Remember, only your registration fee will guarantee your spot in the tournament!! The past six years teams have been left on the waiting list because the tournament filled quickly.
