ARTIST STUDY
Students were inspired by Wayne Thiebaud's gumball machines. Using oil pastels and watercolors, the students created their own gumball machines.
SELF-PORTRAIT
Inspired by the book, "The Color of Us." Students learned how to draw a symmetrical self-portrait. The students started the project by painting their skin color. They continued by drawing their facial features, and they topped it off with a crown.
ARTIST STUDY
Inspired by the artist Jimmy Cantrell, the students created faces out of cardboard and colored them with oil pastel.
ART FROM AROUND THE WORLD
Students studied Children's Day in Japan. Where the children go outside to fly kites. Inspired by that holiday, students made koi fish kites.
