These cards speed up the process of evolving your Pokémon.
Note that Technical Machine: Evolution and Grand Tree do not trigger when-played (from hand) Abilities, like Charizard ex's.
A staple for Stage 2 decks. It speeds up evolution by a turn, letting you use your Pokémon's Abilities or get them out of Bench snipe range earlier. In decks with multiple Evolution lines, it also acts as a "wildcard Stage 1".
Despite its raw power, the presence of Budew in the format means you can't lean heavily on it, and must still include Stage 1s and Technical Machine: Evolution as outs.
TM: Evo searches your deck for 2 Evolutions and evolves the lower Stage forms immediately, even if you only played them that turn. As a Pokémon Tool, it's searchable off Arven, and bypasses Item lock.
You need to play thick Evolution lines to make good use of TM: Evo. In Stage 2 decks, that means not skimping on the Stage 1s (usually 3-2-2).
A powerful evolver for Stage 2 decks, hampered by 1) being an ACE SPEC and 2) the opponent also being able to use it.
Play thick Evolution lines if you're playing Grand Tree, as it will whiff if you Prize or naturally draw all the Stage 1s.
