European Union Travelling Bags

EUROPEAN UNION TRAVELLING BAGS

AND EUROPEAN UNION MAP

Each country prepared 5 “ Travelling bags” which contained:

1. A letter describing the most relevant facts about the school, the town, country and a message about “ THE EUROPE WE WANT IN THE FUTURE”.

2. A small souvenir

3. An interesting fact from our country (tradition, recipe, dance, festival, legend, song …)

4. A jigsaw about our school

5. A piece from a collaborative map of Europe

Collaborative map of Europe

Goal : to have a better knowledge of European countries.

Each country split a map of Europe into six pieces :

All pieces were printed in a A3 size. Pupils found for each country something that represents the country : monument, food, famous character, … and stick on the country what they chose..

Then each country kept a piece of the map (the A part) and sends the other parts to partner countries, respecting the following instructions :

Preparation of the European Union Bags. The students worked in small national teams to prepare the content of the bags and to create the European Union map.

WHAT AN AMAZING EXPERIENCE!!

Receiving a travelling bag with a letter, some souvenirs, a piece of the Europe's map, the jigsaw of the school and a small gift... is like a present to each of our students which will remember forever.

The travelling bags allowed us to learn about our partner countries, we improved our reading skills, we enhanced the value of European citizenship and we also strengthen the sense of responsibility towards the Europe of the future.

We arranged an exhibition about the gifts so that the whole school can share this lovely way of "meeting" the partners.

The Travelling Bags arrived in every partner school!

The students were happy to read the partner letters and to solve the puzzles sent by every partner school.
