At first, The Erasmus project was initially created and designed on the eTwinning platform by making a group called “Sustainable Development Goals in our schools”. All members of our partnership are eTwinners and two of them (French and Catalan) are eTwinning ambassadors. Once the project was approved by the European Commission an eTwinning project with the same name started and became the official platform of the project -"Sustainable Development Goals Action!"
Due to the adaptations and the collaborative work done by the participants, the project was recognized as an example of good practice by the School Education Gateway.
We created two eTwinning projects within SDGs Action!. For the first year, we registered “Women who changed the world”. Six more countries were invited to join, so 12 European schools were involved in the project built on SDG5.
We developed “SDGs Peace” in the 2nd year and gathered 15 European contributors. Thanks to these activities, all of the students and teachers were vehemently encouraged to promote peace in the world.
All participating schools were provided with information on how to apply for the eTwinning school label. This happened during the LTTA in Finland in February 2020 where the coordinator institution, as an experienced eTwinning ambassador held a conference to explain how to get the eTwinning school label and offered input on the matter. The final and successful result was that 3 schools got the label for the first time (France, Finland and Italy), Catalonia renewed the label in 2020 and Bulgaria in 2021. Romania will apply for the eTwinning school label in 2022 as they were new on the platform.
As a result of all good practices and long and successful experience in eTwinning, Sant Josep school, the coordinator institution was selected by the Central Support Service in Brussels to be an eTwinning monitoring school during 2019-2020. This was a relevant fact for our SDGS Action! Project as it raised our work to the European level, enhancing educational standards, learning and sharing the new XXI pedagogical methodologies.
