G.E.L. FILYROU is a State Senior High School comprising 160 pupils and 20 teachers. It is located in Filyro which is a northern suburb of Thessaloniki, approximately 20 km far from the city centre. The school has been credited with the 6th place among the best State Senior High Schools of Thessaloniki as regards the success rates in the National Exams for entering university. Apart from this, a vast number of national projects are being conducted by our staff, either cultural, environmental or health education related ones. Not to mention that theatrical performances are being put on every year with great success. Finally, we are proud to belong to the UNESCO associated schools network.

School teachers have conducted numerous environmental projects in the past years, since the environmental issue in our days and age is considered by all to be of an utmost importance. Thus, the topic of sustainability is regarded by the teachers willing to be involved in this Erasmus program as an area of great interest. Their motivation to be

involved in this project, in combination with their previous experience in such topics, is a positive indication of a great final result.
