Contestants are required to record a cappella video to participate in the audition. Any soundtrack or background music is not allowed.

The duration of a cappella video should not exceed 120 seconds.

The initial part of the video must include the contestant’s self-introduction (name in Chinese and English, age, and the name of the university that they are studying in).

Contestants are allowed to choose any song, but the lyrics of the song chosen by the contestants must include at least 80% Chinese words or Chinese dialects.

Any songs with contents of violence, sex, politics, discriminations, religions and other inappropriate contents are strictly prohibited.

Contestants are required to upload the recorded video to the designated Google Form made by the main organiser and fill in the relevant information.

Contestants are required to rename the video file to the contestant's name and university’s name. (e.g. Ng Xiao Xiao - Sunway University)

Contestants can start to upload their video on 25/1/2021, and the deadline is on 14/2/2021, at 11:59 pm.

If contestants fail to upload the audition video within the given timeframe, the main organiser reserves the right to disqualify the contestants from participating.

The judges will select 32 outstanding cappella videos as the top 32 of The SunVoice 5.

The list of top 32 of The SunVoice 5 will be announced by the main organiser through the Facebook page, which is expected to be on 21/2/2021.
