Jamboard is is actually a large piece of hardware. It looks similar to a Smartboard or a Promethean Board, but it is slightly smaller. HOWEVER, we have discovered we can use the Jamboard app as a tool for students to create multiple pages where they have the ability to free draw, insert images, add labels and links. In distance learning mode, we needed a tool for students to be able to draw freely. The jamboard app did the trick for us!
Students can use the pen in Jamboard to solve math problems.
Students can create diagrams. They can draw and label to show their understanding.
Students can use Jamboard to show their understanding of character analysis or even multiple perspectives.
Students can create create concept maps to analyze a topic or show understanding.
Jamboard encourages creativity. Students can create drawings and add text to create their own digital books about a variety of topics! The sky is the limit!
NOTE: I forgot to mention that Jamboard is collaborative just as other Google apps are. Meaning, more that one student can access a Jam at a time!
Activity A- Can you think of a way your students can use Jamboard? The sky is the limit, isn't it? Share your ideas and/or access more ideas on our Sunshiny Summer Camp Padlet!
Activity B- Think of a lesson you have done in the past. How did your students show their learning? Can Google Jamboard be used instead? Click here to access a lesson planner so you can design a lesson using Google Jamboard!
Activity C- Test your skills! Use Jamboard to create a short story that tells what you have done so far this summer! OR create a short story that tells all about YOU! Try drawing pictures, adding text, and inserting images to tell your story! You'll be able to use this story to tell your students about YOU or your summer at the beginning of the school year!
