Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) is a field of research that aims to create machines that can match or surpass human-level intelligence. While current AI systems are good at specific tasks, they lack the broad-based cognitive abilities of humans. AGI aims to create machines that can think, reason, learn, and adapt to new situations like humans do ¹. AGI is also called strong AI or deep AI ⁵. It is a theoretical form of AI where a machine would have an intelligence equaled to humans; it would have a self-aware consciousness that has the ability to solve problems, learn, and plan for the future ⁴.
