There are 3 Drill teams in NJROTC. Armed, Unarmed, and Color Guard. This page is about the Armed Drill Team.
What is Armed? Armed is a Drill team that is often practiced within NJROTC with rifles and it is important to learn the basics of it during your time at NJROTC to not only try it out but to learn how we compete with other schools as well. This practice isn't only about competition though, the practice of armed has many purposes, such as parade performance, drill performance, exhibitions, and discipline.
Why do we compete? We compete with other schools to be able to become more recognized or noticed to increase our unit status, it also goes onto our end-of-the-year report.
Why do we participate in parades? We participate to perform and show off what we have accomplished within this program, and again, it goes on the end-of-the-year report.
