Destination Imagination - East
Hello families!
What a magical summer it has been. In Destination Imagination, the children showed up everyday ready to engage in all the activities.
We have made so many magical memories and I hope they last a lifetime. I look forward to next summer and all the fun that awaits!
Destination Imagination - Healey
For the last week of summer camp, students were excited to create some whimsical and detailed works of art. For our first day, students got creative and designed unique and colorful creatures. They were instructed to produce a symmetrical design by folding a paper in half, sketching a random design, and cutting their outline which would reveal a symmetrical pattern. They were asked to observe their sketch and picture what kind of imaginary creature it looks like. They were asked to draw in eyes, patterns, a mouth, and nose and utilize their imagination to produce a unique ornate being. For our second project, students were given a demonstration on the different methods of paper folding and were taught how to create a beautiful folded paper ornament which they may hang anywhere they wish! As for our last day, students were given the freedom to free-paint. They were each handed their own canvas and produced their own individual painting!
Just Do It - East
For week 6 of Just Do It, the kids got to revisit some of the many games we learned over the summer!
We got to choose whatever games we wanted from over the past 5 weeks and voted on what ones to actually play.
On our last day of Just Do It, we got what we’ve been looking for all summer, FULL FREE PLAY.
The kiddos were so excited the screams echoed in the hallway. It was amazing to see all the excited faces but upsetting to know it was our last class.
We are already looking forward to next summer!

We cannot believe that Just Do It has come to a close.
We have had such a fun summer full of games, and as sad as we are to be at the end, we are beyond glad that this week was one of our best yet!
Campers played their two favorite games that we’ve played this summer, jail ball and kickball. The gym was the place to be, and each group put their best foot forward to compete, be active, and above all, have an awesome time!
A big thank you from the Just Do It specialists to all of our campers and group leaders for always showing good sportsmanship, effort, and enthusiasm: you all made every day in the gym a great one!
STEAM - East
Hi everyone!
It is so hard to believe summer is coming to an end. We have had a great summer filled with learning, fun, and exploration.
During this last week in STEAM we went on a scavenger hunt throughout the building and our classroom. Students had fun identifying different things that matched what we had to search for.
We did a learn to draw of baby YODA, a lady bug, and a unicorn donut!
I hope you all have a great two weeks! We are very excited to welcome everyone back to the school year very soon!

I can not believe it’s already the end of camp! We have done so many cool projects and experiments this summer. This week we finished our “bird mansions” as some of the students call them. Students made bird houses with recycled materials, some houses were three stories, some were sushi bars and we even had a bird casino! It was so awesome to see how creative they got! It was a fun summer that we are all sad to see end. But we are excited for what the new school year will bring us!
Hollywood - East
The last week and all of the students are buzzing with excitement for the final performance. This has been a wonderful and creative summer with lots of dances, songs, skits, and stage presence. This week, for the final performance each group got to pick their final dance/skit/fashion show for the talent show. Many of the groups chose to re-create dances from previous shows. So audience, you are in luck! You will get to see a snippet of all of the performances through the talent show.
The talent show will feature a little something from each week this summer. We even have some of our specialists and interns performing! This is not a show to miss. Remember we have all of these shows available through video for folks to watch at home. We hope you enjoy our last show and the first show, in forever, where families are welcome to see the performance in person!
Words cannot express how proud we are of the kids and their amazing accomplishments this summer. They learned how to dance and sing at the same time. Move their bodies in different ways and of course, go up on stage in front of lots of people! These are all skills that help our young ones develop confidence in themselves. This is not easy so remember to congratulate your little ones for their amazing performance!
Hollywood - Healey
It’s the last week of camp and we can’t believe how quickly these weeks flew by.
Last week’s show was postponed due to forces outside of our control, but as we say in Hollywood, the show must go on! We took advantage of the extra time to perfect our routines.
Our final show also features a talent portion with a variety of individual acts that campers have put together on their own and signed up to perform. We are so lucky to have the space to bring our art and creativity to life onstage in an environment where everyone’s unique abilities are celebrated.
Thanks for following along with our adventures and have a great rest of your summer!
LIT's
Hello everyone,
It is our last week and our last LIT blurb. It so sad to know that you won’t be hearing from us until next year, but I can assure you we are going out with a great one.
This week we have been going to the pool, playing in the gym and of course enjoying our time in laser tag. Although we lost against the younger groups we had an amazing bonding time. We got to say our farewells to each other. We promised each other that we will continue this journey and start our new school year with advice and experience we learned from camp.
If they ever need someone to talk to or even need someone to just listen to them my doors are always open. Lastly, we will finish the week with field day and a ready to go attitude to conquer victory in our last Staff vs LIT game to become the number 1 of the summer adventure camp champions.

Week 6 capped off a wonderful summer for our campers!
This week, we reviewed all of the lessons on Growth Mindset we learned in Counselor’s Corner this summer, stressing to ourselves the importance of practicing hard tasks in order to strengthen our brains like a muscle. As a concrete reminder of all we did, we learned about SMART goals and made laminated book marks, writing our own goals on things we can say to ourselves to never give up! The kids incorporated great ideas on their lists, utilizing key phrases we practiced during our classes such as “Flip that Flop”, remembering the “Power of YET”, and seeing the world through “Magical Glasses” when they feel stuck and fixed in their thinking. We talked about how they all could take their bookmarks to school to help them prepare for a successful school year. We even listed to a “Growth Mindset” playlist of songs on YouTube – they loved matching the songs with techniques and strategies we practiced! I hope your camper enjoyed our Growth Mindset curriculum this summer and will continue practicing at home with you.
It has been a pleasure working with all your kiddos this year and I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!
