Week 6- Lazer Craze & Nahant Beach (Healey)

Week 6- East

As we wrap up the summer over at the East, we took two last very exciting trips to Stage Fort Beach (where "make it rain" was taken literally by mother nature) & Chunky's Movies!

Stage Fort Beach had a very nice playground that many students got to enjoy. They all also had an amazing time in the water splashing each other and making even more memories with one another. Although as we were leaving it began to downpour, all of our beach fieldtrips, especially this one have been unique and fun.

Chunky's Movies was also, like many one to remember! As the students arrived and took their seats they quickly noticed the comfortable recliner chairs and the long tables that made it possible for them to sit with their friends. They were all able to enjoy some pizza and pink lemonade as they watched the new, hilarious movie "Super Pets" starring Kevin Hart and Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. In the end we topped the trip off with some delicious ice cream.

At the East, we all had a blast with the students this summer on our fieldtrips and we already can't wait to see what next summer has in store for us. Until next time!

Week 5- East

Kimball Farm: On Tuesday, our campers at the East had lots of fun exploring Kimball Farm!

This year, students had the option to do 4 different activities- the Driving Range, Bumper Cars, Bumper Boats, and Mini Golf! Needless to say, students raced each other to get to the bumper boats and bumper cars due to their popularity.

Thankfully, we all had some great time to enjoy both and some more. The wait in line was definitely worth it! On top of that, we all got to enjoy some delicious and creamy ice cream after eating some delicious hamburgers, hotdogs, and potato chips!

Week 5- East

Nahant Beach: Thursday was a perfect day for the beach for the kiddos at the East.

It was hot and sunny making the nice and cold water feel amazing on everyone's skin.

At lunch time, we were able to eat in a cool area in the shade to avoid receiving lots of sun! We all quickly went back to the water and enjoyed it to the fullest.

Week 5- Healey

Nahant Beach: Students at the Healey were treated to the perfect beach day on Tuesday as they traveled to Nahant Beach. There was a beautiful sea brezze to keep staff and students comfortable as they splashed around in the waves and dug in the sand. We lost a few beach balls throughout our day, but students returned salty, sandy and full of smiles!

Week 5- Healey

Canobie Lake Park: Thursday was hot, hot, hot but the best day for our students to venture to Canobie Lake Park in Salem, NH. Due to the heat, we got to experience short wait times for rides and plenty of space in the water park. Students splashed around and floated down the lazy river to stay cool in the high temps. We enjoyed a variety of rides such as the Boston Tea Party, Untamed, Star Blaster, the Caterpillar and more! To end our day students enjoyed treats ranging from dippin' dots and fried dough to pepperoni pizza.

Week 4- East

This week the East took two very exciting trips to the Science Museum and Wingaersheek Beach.

The Science Museum was filled with so much excitement and energy for everyone! The students enjoyed finding different ways to learn about animals, old and new. They also got to release their energy in a science-themed park and learned about balance/pressure without even realizing they were learning!

As we revisited Wingaersheek Beach on a beautiful and sunny Thursday, the kiddos couldn't get enough of the water. Many staff members joined them in taking a nice swim in the water. They were all so excited and curious to see how many seashells or even crabs they could find! As lunchtime arrived, we were all able to sit down together and listen to some Bee Gees, Earth Wind & Fire, and even some Romeo Santos!

We can't wait to see what next week's field trips will bring for us!

Week 3- East

Franklin Park Zoo: This week our campers at the East started off with a trip to Franklin Park Zoo! Many of our friends enjoyed watching the Gorillas and Lions, while other friends got to experience the petting zoo. With the hot weather, our students got to enjoy the exhibits indoors that featured ant eaters, a sloth, and even some different snakes! We all got to see many different types of animals and their habitats.

Week 3- East

Xtreme Craze: To end Week 3, students at the East were able to have some fun at the arcade and bouncy house at Xtreme Craze. Some groups took advantage of the bouncy house first and jumped around with their friends and teachers! Many enjoyed jumping off onto the platform and sliding down the slide. Other groups experienced the many games that the arcade had to offer first, before going on to jump.

Week 2- East

Wingaersheek Beach: On Tuesday, students at the East made their way to the beautiful Wingaersheek Beach. Despite the windy weather, everyone enjoyed the sunny skies and sparkly clean water. Many were able to dive in and swim in the clear water while others were more entertained in playing with the sand or discovering the different sea animals by the rocks!

Connors Farm: On Thursday, the nice and sunny weather allowed all students to enjoy the many activities that Connors Farm had to offer. Despite not being able to go blueberry picking, everyone made the best out of the trip and enjoyed the chicken show, a nice scenic train ride, and some ice cream! Everyone was also able to have some free time and enjoy the tough but fun obstacle course, bouncy trampolines, and some saddle swings!

Week 2- Healey

Jay Gee's Fun Center: On Tuesday, students at the Healey enjoyed a whole host of activities at the fun center in Methuen. Students explored the arcade and earned so many wonderful prizes, including one very large ball snagged from the claw machine! Students and staff enjoyed go cart races, bumper cars, and a game of mini golf. When the students returned from their trip they couldn't stop talking about all the fun they enjoyed on their trip!

Wingaersheek Beach: On Thursday, the Healey students traveled up the north shore to visit one of our favorite places, Wingaersheek Beach! While it was a little cloudy and cool before they left the school, by the time they arrived they had a clear sunny sky and students splashed around in the water with glee. Some friends enjoyed playing in the sand and turning each other into mermaids, while others explored the wildlife in the rocks and water. Our friends came back to the school happy and very tired from a fun filled beach day.

Week 1- East

For our first field trip, students at the East had so much fun because they were able to go and have a nice and relaxed beach day! We couldn't get enough sun and sand. The kiddos had such a blast in the waves and taught each other how to build sand castles like pros!

Week 1- Healey

Week one was complete with a field trip to Kimball Farm for our friends here at the Healey. Students were greeted with an itinerary of mini golf, bumper boats, two rides in the spin zone, the driving range and more. Students enjoyed sand volleyball courts and a game of tug o' war. They enjoyed a delicious lunch of cheeseburgers made fresh right in Kimball's own kitchen. Of course, a trip to Kimball Farm wouldn't have been complete without a delicious cup of homemade ice cream!
