Current Practice, Connected Educator, Future Considerations
Current Practice, Connected Educator, Future Considerations
Coming into EC&I 831, I was already a strong advocate for leveraging technology to support learning. But this course pushed me to expand my thinking — especially around the power of social media, open education, and participatory digital culture. Online Professional Learning Networks offer opportunities to connect with others, share ideas, remix knowledge, and engage in ongoing, professional growth.
This course has given me new strategies to grow in my role. My next steps as a learner and educator include:
Continuing to build my PLN and model the process for others
Encouraging educators to experiment with open tools and creative digital projects
Exploring more ways to embed conversations about digital citizenship, AI, and remix culture into learning
Remaining a curious, reflective learner who embraces both the challenges and possibilities of teaching in a connected world
This course has been a valuable reminder that teaching and learning in the digital age isn’t just about using new tools — it’s about participating, contributing, and connecting in ways that are human, creative, and deeply relational.
