Critical Consumption, Ethics & Future-Ready Teaching
AI (artificial intelligence) refers to the capability of computational systems to perform tasks typically associated with human intelligence, such as learning, reasoning, problem-solving, perception, and decision-making (Wikipedia)
This type of AI is already built into the tools we use - like Siri, social media algorithms, YouTube, Netflix, search engines and Google Maps. While it might have raised some concerns, most people have just accepted this technology and taken advantage of the convenience it affords us.
Generative AI, on the other hand seems to have sparked a little more fear.
Generative AI is different in that it has the ability to generate new content. In mere seconds, we can compose a 5-page essay, build lesson plans, write a weekly meal-plan, or create new songs or image.
And while this is incredible, it has also sparked new concerns and possibly fear.
