We were pleased to host Prof. Munekazu Motoyama from Kyushu University (Japan) and Prof. Kuan-Rong Fung from National Cheng Kung University (Taiwan) as part of the JSPS-NTU Collaboration Workshop. Both professors presented comprehensive overviews of their ongoing research activities in electrochemistry and energy materials. All lab members actively participated in the seminar, fostering meaningful discussions and exploring future collaboration opportunities. We look forward to strengthening our research ties with both institutions!
We celebrated Teacher's Day with Prof. Pei-Chen Su. Lab members prepared a heart-warming rolling paper with personal messages and a specially ordered custom cake to honor our professor's dedication and guidance. It was a wonderful opportunity to show our appreciation for the invaluable support we receive. We look forward to continuing to learn and grow together as a harmonious lab!
We were pleased to welcome Prof. Choi Hae‑Jin (Department of Mechanical Engineering, Chung‑Ang University, Seoul, South Korea) to our lab. Prof. Choi specializes in multiscale design, robust engineering, additive manufacturing, and impact mechanics. It was a productive and inspiring visit, and we look forward to future collaborations!
Two PhD candidates from our research group, Ng Chin Siang and Li Hao-Yang, celebrated their convocation surrounded by our professor, group members, and family. We warmly congratulate them on this milestone and wish them every success as they embark on the next chapter of their careers!

Prof. Su successfully organized ICMAT 2025 – Symposium A: The 14th Joint Asian Meeting on Ferroelectrics and Electroceramics (AMF-AMEC-14).
Jiyoon and Haoyang delivered oral presentations during the symposium. It was a great opportunity to engage with many leading materials scientists from around the world, fostering meaningful academic communication and collaboration.
Praseodymium oxide infiltration effectively stabilizes exsolved Fe nanoparticles on Sr1.9Fe1.5Mo0.5O6-δ (SFM) electrodes, suppressing agglomeration and reducing polarization resistance in SOFCs at 800 ˚C.
Warpage occurs due to different degrees of curing in each layer during vat photopolymerization. It was corrected by uniformizing the light energy across all layers with varying part thicknesses and layer thicknesses.

In this collaborative project, our group and Prof. Munekazu Motoyama at Kyushu University (Japan) focus on addressing critical interfacial challenges in all-solid-state lithium-based batteries (ASSBs). By utilizing advanced thin film deposition techniques such as atomic layer deposition (ALD), this research aims to enhance the electrode-electrolyte interface and improve long-term battery performance.

Thin film surface modification using PEALD Ru nanoparticles on SFMO cathode of solid oxide fuel cells. 5 deposition cycles of Ru-SFMO cathode demonstrate significant improvements in initial performance and chemical stability. Ru nanoparticles enhanced ORR kinetics while also improving stability by suppressing Sr segregation.
Composite cathode design for solid oxide fuel cells (SOFCs) combines Praseodymium Cerium Oxide (PCO) with perovskite oxide to address the strontium segregation issue. Nanoscale PCO, infiltrated onto a porous perovskite backbone, demonstrates significant improvements in durability and efficiency.
