Talks and Training - in addition to the training we provide in the field the group also organise a number of talks and training events each year, including at our AGM which usually takes place in April.
These have included -
A Workshop on Archaeological Drawing and Recording and Training Dig by Rob and Wendy Bylett of Dig-it
An Introduction to Interpreting Geophysical Surveys by Matthew Morris of University of Leicester Archaeological Services (ULAS) and organised by Suffolk County Council Archaeological Service as part of the Rendlesham Revealed Project
A Workshop on Artefact Drawing by Gilbert Burroughs
A talk on the Sizewell C Coin Hoard (aka 'the Pastie') by Alex Bliss from Cotswold Archaeology
A talk on an interesting Iron Age site in Suffolk by Tom Lucking, one of our long-standing members and currently a professional archaeologist, about a site on which he has been working.
At our AGM we normally have reports on all the projects carried out in the previous year, so its a good opportunity to catch up on any of the activities you might not have been able to join and to see and handle some of the artefacts that have been found.
