DESIGN STATEMENT

R E J U V E N A T E T H R O U G H V I S U A L B U O Y A N C Y

The design echoes an interplay to visual buoyancy (Inspired by existing visual buoyancy of Heavy Mass floating against gravity above water) to complement and enhance the significance of a Neo-Gothic architecture & it’s surrounding age long meandering landscape through lightweight , simple articulation of new stories from masterplan to detail design considerations.

A neutral skin has been added to the vulnerable old facade so that people can touch, sense the smell of the facade, it’s wonderful details, ornamentation. thus, the facade will have potential to regrow. Besides the scaffold facade is also functional as after erase of slabs due to fire hazard,, the wall became cantilevered element, which is vulnerable during earthquake. The the new skin will strengthen, the structure, enrich the experiential journey & also enhance the gravity of the corner crowing.‘ A reflective ceiling have the potentials to enhance the significance of reflection of it,s stories with respect to surrounding dynamic landscapes.

Careful Addressing and designing of landscape that creates it’s canvas (along with red deer and Rodent animals that existed long before castle) for celebration has been brought in through careful design of ecosystem and careful segregation of anthromes & biomes and bringing them inside through multiple reflections at water and reflective surfaces. The surrounding meandering dynamic context has been articulated with rejuvenated geometry of central spine creating a contrasting and complementary harmony.

Thus Nature & people’s new stories have the potentials to regrow stronger, achieving a timeless character..
