THE PRIMITIVE HUT is an abstract concept of a place that is created through mans response to the natural and BUILT environment. My design approach was to create a minimalistic space which ADAPTS to it’s surrounding build environment to solve it’s existing problems and provides opportunities to ENHANCE the urban living conditions for people. I live in the city of DHAKA,BANGLADESH,one of the most densely populated cities in the world with majority depending on the public transportation system. But due to insufficient investments and bad management of resources Dhaka suffers from unbearable TRAFFIC CONGESTION and scarcity of HALTAGE POINTS in the city. Moreover the city suffers from LACK of public facilities like public toilets, supply of public drinking water fountains, proper ticket management system for public buses, exposed electrical utility points.
The design approaches to solve these gaps in public realm by a MULTI-FUNCTIONAL,COST EFECTIVE,RATIONAL and MODULAR solution that can be repeated throughout the city with ease. In this way Bus stops will act more than it’s primary function of creating points of insertion into the public transportation by:
• Bus stops are everywhere in the city. They can be used as a POINTS OF INCERTION into urban life to raise awareness, promote a good initiative( frequent hand washing against COVID-19 ) and so on.
• They attract a lot of audience everyday. So they can be used for ADVERTISEMENT,The money generated by which can be used to maintain the physical attributes and multiplication of the structure.
• They will provide access points to PUBLIC FACILITIES like public toilets, drinking water, electrical utilities, ticket kiosks and prevent vandalism and loss of public property.
