The STAAR test is coming up VERY fast. The test will be on April 8th and you must come IN PERSON to take the test. I wanted to create some sort of guide for you to use to help you prepare.
This review is not for a grade and is not mandatory. I am hoping that you will choose to use this to prepare. Remember, you need to pass the STAAR test in order to graduate!
This website is broken up into several categories. The first category is revising and editing. I suggest starting here because it could help you in your essay section. I have looked at all of the released STAAR tests and determined that there are a few key rules that could help you be more successful. After the revising and editing section, I suggest looking at the essay section. I have included the rubric with an explanation of what it means, example essays, and brainstorming tips/tricks. The reading section has a lot to go through. I have included subpages for literary and informational texts, so be sure to review both!
Once you have finished reviewing each "lesson", you can take a practice test. I made knowledge checks and practice tests (these are on their own page). I have also included testing tips for students who suffer with testing anxiety or who feel like they are unprepared for actually sitting through the test!
I have included videos that I have made or found in each "lesson". Please refer to these if you feel like you need additional help!
