Overview: The what, why, and how we uphold the missions of Benedictine University and Residence Life. This unit will give you a look into why we do what we do and how your position is an essential part of why people choose to live on campus.
Learning Outcomes: RAs will learn the general scope of their role and how their work as an RA contributes and supports the residents in building community. All RAs will learn what their number 1 task is as an RA.

Create Your Own Expectations
As an RA, you will have to oversee programming activities, resident and community concerns, as well as housing administrative tasks. When reading about your community, consider the expectations you would like to establish for your specific community.
**For example, below are the expectations are ones that we went over for training.**
Activity:
Create a list of community standards and expectations as a team that you all would hope to enforce throughout your time as a resident assistant.
Utilizing the document associated with your specific community, input a list of community standards and expectations.
Residence Life staff will work to distribute this throughout your building during the academic year.
