Extended Care

Purpose

The extended care program serves the children of St. Stephen’s School and Kindergarten. Parents who work or are unavailable at the beginning or end of class to pick up their children may utilize extended care. 

Admission Policy

Extended Care is available for children aged three to Kindergarten. Children placed in extended care MUST be potty-trained and must be at least 3 years-old by October 1st.

Fees and Payments

Each child will be billed on a per hour basis. Rates are determined annually. Billing for extended care is done by hour and distributed bi-weekly. Payments are to be placed in the lock box across from the school office. All payments are to be made by check or money order. 

Fees 2024-2025: 

$9.00 per billing hour for current St. Stephen's students if you use 8 or more hours a week. $10.50 an hour for less than 8 hours a week.

Monday - Friday: 7:15am - 9:00am and 11:30am - 4:00pm 

Extended Care Staff

Mrs. McClellan

Meghan McClellan teaches 3-day 4-year-old and 2-day 3-year-old classes as well as being the lead Extended Care teacher at St. Stephen's.  She is a local graduate of Parkland High School. While attending Shippensburg, Mrs. McClellan was a four year scholar athlete in swimming. She currently resides in Allentown with her husband, Sean. In her free time, Mrs. McClellan loves to play sports and go to the beach. She is also huge Penn State fan and frequently attends football games.

Ms. Batza

Diane Batza, born in Northampton, Pennsylvania, is a teaching assistant in the 4-day 4-year-old class at St. Stephen’s School. She has been working at St. Stephen’s since 2005.  Mrs. Batza is retired from Sapita Cheese and General Electric.   She has one son and four grandchildren and they all came to St. Stephen’s.  Her hobby is bowling and she likes NASCAR and college football.  She is a member of Faith Lutheran Church in Whitehall.
